Chapter 2: "Akira and Haru".

I was walking down the path that led towards the main entrance of the high school, when a familiar voice made me look towards a bench along the path.

–– How has Akira-sama been?

–– So you managed to get in… Haru.

The person in front of me, sitting on that bench is Furukawa Haru, from the Furukawa clan and my training partner as a child.

–– You look good despite the years.

–– I say the same thing…

–– But.

Suddenly Haru's tone of voice became more serious, he got up from the bench and without thinking, lashed out with one of his fists at me.

–– Do you attack without warning? –– I managed to react in time, deflecting his fist to the side.

–– I see you didn't get rusty up there at the top.

Haru stood on guard again, the aura he was emanating was screaming for me to take this seriously.

–– Well, if that's the way you want it. –– I tossed my purse and vest toward the bench, rolled up my shirt sleeves and stood at attention.

–– Finally…

–– Haru, do you know the rules?

–– Yes…

–– So… Parallel dimension…

–– Activated!

A Purple colored aura flooded the path where we were about to fight, this is what we clans call "Parallel Dimension" and it is very much tied to the rules of fighting between clans.

The main rule is that "If a firstborn is challenged to fight by another, it immediately becomes a duel for points". While the second rule says "Fights between firstborns must take place in the Parallel Dimension, this to avoid collateral damage and not involve civilians in these disputes."

Basically the "Parallel Dimension" is a place where clans can settle their disputes without hurting anything or anyone.

–– I count on you, Akira-sama! –– Haru quickly lunged toward me.

–– From the front again?

I met Haru's fist squarely with one of my hands, brought it down and counterattacked with my free hand straight at his face.

Haru reacted by spinning on his own axis and kicked my fist away, causing us to separate from each other.

–– Huh… –– My hand went numb for a few seconds. –– I see you have improved.

–– I appreciate it very much Akira-sama…

–– Akira-sama? Since when so formal?

–– It is the respect that the leader of the strongest clan deserves, I can no longer treat him as before.

–– So that was it… –– I stood on guard and stared at Haru.

Haru flinched and stood on guard as fast as he could.

–– Hey, tell me something…

–– Yes?

–– Do you remember our last fight?

–– Of course it was before the promotion ceremony.

–– So… will you remember this!

I threw myself with all the strength I had at Haru, jumping up before reaching him and dropping a kick like a scythe.

–– This is so nostalgic Akira....

Haru ducked his head and just before impact, he lunged backwards with a deadly triple such... and as in our last confrontation.

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

–– Akira you bastard, what were you thinking with that kick?!

–– But if you dodged it, what difference does it make?

–– Hey! –– Haru grabbed me by the collar of my training shirt.

–– Calm down, will you?

–– You!

Before Haru's fist could reach, I deflected it upward with a slap and with one leg I made him slip, causing him to lose his balance.

–– Never let your guard down Haru.

Haru put his hand on the ground and threw a kick sweeping the ground, to which I responded by jumping up and walking away.

–– Nearly…

–– Tch.

Haru also moved away and stood back on guard.

–– What was that surprise attack?!

–– Samuru-san never warns when he will attack, you must always be alert!

–– Akira…

–– This generation must be the one to finish Samuru-san off, and I'm not going to end up like Dad!

–– Okay… I apologize for that, now… I'm going all out!

–– That's the spirit Haru, I'm going all out too!

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

–– Hehe, those were good times.

We both threw everything we had and when we were about to hit…

–– All right, that's it!

A rather peculiar voice brought us back to the present. When we returned to the present we saw how our fists were blocked by two gloved hands.

–– Samuru-san! –– Haru and I shouted in unison and then walked away.

–– The one who dresses and fits.

–– What are you doing here?

–– To tell a couple of students that they are going to be late for the entrance ceremony in the great hall.

–– Damn it, Haru, we're leaving!

–– Yes!

We gathered our things and ran out into the great hall.

–– Hoshinomori Akira and Furukawa Haru… This year will be very interesting, hehe.
