Blackout Frights

Nathan looked at the door as Maria ran into the building. She was covered with water and it was clear that she was shaking. "It's bloody raining outside!" she yelled out at the pink haired male.

He couldn't help but give a chuckle. The male grabbed a towel and walked over to her, handing it to her. It was an aqueous blue that matched the eyes of Maria. "Glad you're safe, sweetie," he gave a smile and a kiss on her forehead.

Maria gave a blush and looked at him. "You know how I am with the rain, Nathan… It's evil… EVIL!" she yelled out.

Nathan put a hand on her shoulder, noticing she was shaking. "Why don't we get you in dry clothes and we start practicing for your concert to get your mind off of the rain. That suit you?"

The raven looked at him and gave a sigh before nodding. "Yeah, that's probably the best for now, considering the concert is up soon…"

Painted pink lips formed a smile as the male grabbed the females arm and pulled her to the dressing area. He started to look through the various clothes and costumes, humming as he found a cowgirl-like outfit. Almost like a space cowgirl. "How about this for your first song?"

Maria looked at him and giggled. "We will try costumes on after practicing the songs. I don't want to ruin the fabric. Now let's get the microphones and I'll start the song," she gave a gentle smile.

Nathan gave a nod and looked at the men on the stage and smiled at them. They started to play the song. Maria started to sing her heart out.

----

After she finished singing the song, she gave a smile. "Let's see how the next song works, okay? Afterwards we will take a break and I'll try some costumes."

Everyone nodded in agreement. "Okay milady!" they called out.

She listened as the next song started to play. She gave a smile and started to sing, almost forgetting it was storming outside.

----

The power had gone out in the middle of her song, the sound of lightning echoing through the auditorium. The raven haired female dropped everything in the dark and let out a scream. Only those within the auditorium at that time knew her fear of the dark and how storms during that time made it worse. Nathan found a candle and lit it with his finger, walking over to the female who was hugging her knees and shaking. "Can we try to get the power back on or was it shot down?"

The lighting crew looked at the wires. "We can try to bring it back up, but I don't think it will be back up until after the storm as it's too dangerous to have us do anything."

Nathan nodded and put his hand on the shaking female. "We are going to call it quits for the night. Call us when power is back. I'm taking her home," he mused.

He was about to pick the female up when his watch went off. He frowned and lifted her up after the slight distraction. "Let's hurry and get to the car, sweetie," he quickly headed outside, carrying the small female.

He buckled her in and drove quickly to her home, knowing that there was power and knowing she would be fine there. He didn't want her to be outside or being a hero. He made sure she entered her house and quickly headed to the HeroTV headquarters so he could change and head out. He just prayed that he didn't delay too much.

Maria watched out the window to see Nathan leave. She noticed she didn't have any message on her hero watch so she shrugged. She grabbed her small laptop as well as multiple files that she laid around her on the table. She grabbed a hot cup of tea and sat down, starting to work on whatever. She didn't realize how much time had pass as after a few hours she found herself waking up to a knock on her door, which was odd. Who would be knocking on her door? No one ever visited her unless they had her key. She stood up and walked to the door to investigate.
