Yuri hung his phone up and sat down in his chair. "And to turn off the annoyances that can listen in…" he started to type at a computer, turning off the cameras in his office.
The male waited for the arrival of Maria, tapping his desk. "She needs to be careful, especially since I know about her story. I just hope she hurries up…"
About an hour passed by as a pink-haired female stepped into the room. She sat down in a chair and looked at him "You wanted to talk to me, Yuri?"
He sighed and sat up, looking at her. "You need to be more careful, Maria. We don't need the others knowing about everything otherwise you will end up being arrested. We already have Barnaby being suspicious of you… we don't need everyone to follow in suit…"
Maria nodded and gave a frown. "I know… This is about the warehouse isn't it…?"
Yuri nodded at her and sighed. "Yes… it is about the warehouse. I left after you did that act and I have to say… I should have turned around and said for Thanos to have his judgment… You killed an innocent person that was at the wrong place at the wrong time."
She grits her teeth and glared at him. "I already knew that. Fucking hell… I didn't want to do it… and if I didn't they would have attacked me… and I still don't have control of my abilities… I can't disrupt someone's energy to knock them out. I wish I could, but right now with all this stress it will only make me become more deadly… that's why I try to control bursts in my staff…"
He watched as the pink-haired girl's emotions reflected in her face. She was clearly distraught about what she did and she didn't need him scolding her about it; however, he had to talk to her about it since it was something that would get her in more trouble than 25 years in jail. "I'm only telling you this now because I have sources to help me believe that Barnaby will be moving in to arrest you and interrogate you. Either you lay low as yourself or you disappear. You can't stay with this triple life of a spy, a hero, and yourself. If you do then he will find you and do what he can to arrest you…"
Maria made a fist and stared at him. "I know that already, Yuri! What do I do if he questions why I, Fate, am not there when they need heroes for a job? Huh? What do I do the day he finds out I am really Maria or that I am really Twisted. I don't know what to do anymore and it is just making things worse… and if you appear when they arrest me… then he will know that he has a target… just… please help me, Yuri…"
The pale blonde male sighed and stood up, walking to her and putting a hand on her shoulder. "I'll help you, but don't expect much. Just relax. Go home. Get ready for your concert for everyone, okay?"
The female nodded at him and frowned before looking at the ground. "Okay... I'll try and do that."
Yuri stepped away from her before she stood up. "Thank you for warning me about Barnaby's plans," that she left the office without another word.
The male wanted to protect her from these issues, but couldn't. The reason being was that she brought them upon herself and all he could do was sit and watch, even if it meant becoming Lunatic.
Maria sighed as she walked outside. She saw that there wasn't anyone around so she decided to leave the tower. She walked out the doors only to bump into a tall figure, the force causing her to fall back a few inches and land on her ass. She looked up to see the last person she ever wanted to see face to face.
