"Why are you laughing, what's so funny?"
Sirius asks with a raised brow.
"Nothing really, it's just that you can be quite amusing."
Eliza replies still chuckling.
"Are you saying I'm a clown??... Do I look like one?"
Sirius asks, visibly offended.
"No, not that. You are not a clown at all, I just mean that you can be funny at times."
Eliza replies calming herself.
"Well I didn't say anything funny and anyways, shouldn't you be upset that I'm not apologizing??"
Sirius asks turning his face away.
"Well yeah technically you didn't make an outright joke but that doesn't mean it didn't amuse me.
Also I should be upset under normal circumstances but I guess I'm not normal and anyways I didn't actually expect you to apologize, that's what a nice person would do."
Eliza replies with a shrug.
"You're weird… Wait are you indirectly saying that I'm not nice?"
Sirius asks, picking offence again.
"I know I'm weird, that's what makes me special."
Eliza replies with a smile.
"Okay, you didn't answer my question; are you saying I'm not nice??"
Sirius asks again, this time narrowing his eyes.
"Don't get mad but yeah you are not nice."
Eliza replies while nodding her head.
"Why, you….let me guess, You think I'm not nice cause I have a huge ego and I'm too proud, right??"
Sirius remarks while gritting his teeth.
"Nope, I think you're not nice cause you feel that others won't be nice to you."
Eliza replies with Sirius being taken aback by her response.
"Tch…. Whatever, why are you talking to me anyways if you don't expect an apology from me??"
Sirius asks while clicking his tongue.
"Oh yeah about that… I came here to be friends with you, so what do you say to that?"
Eliza replies, stretching her hand out towards Sirius again.
Sirius stares wide eyed at her for a bit before finally speaking.
"What do I think about what?"
"Being friends with me, we could have lots of fun and that way we'd get to know each other better."
Eliza replies.
"You are joking right??"
Sirius asks still unable to believe what he had just heard.
"Nope, I'm dead serious about this, let's be friends."
Eliza replies with a determination in her eyes.
"Tch, you can't be serious about this, be friends with the boy that's known as the most troublesome amongst the eighth graders, don't try to make a fool out of me, I know your game."
Sirius remarks clicking his tongue.
"But I'm not trying to fool you in any way, I just want to be your friend, what's so wrong with that??"
Eliza asks with a shrug.
"Because no-one just decided to be friends with a problem child like me so why should you be any different.
I'm sure the Matron put you up to this, asking you to be friends with me so you could change me for the better, and I'm sure she told you some sob story for you to feel pity for me and decided to take on a case like me.
Well news flash is I don't need your pity friendship in any way so you can just leave."
Sirius remarks in an upset manner.
"What is your deal??, I mean yeah sure the Matron told me about you but that's only because I asked and anyways I had already decided to help…"
Eliza trails off as she sees that Sirius had gotten the wrong message from her words.
"I knew it, so you are just here to help me, you are just like the others everyone sees me as a problem to be solved, some kind of helpless boy that needs saving but the truth is that I don't need any of that, you hear me??"
Sirius says, Screaming at the tops of his lungs which ended up drawing the attention of other kids and nuns who were not already watching the altercation between Sirius and Eliza.
"Whoa cool it, there's no reason for you to yell, I don't get why you are getting upset."
Eliza says while gesturing with her hands.
"Just leave me alone okay, I don't want to be friends with someone that sees me as a problem."
Sirius remarks turning his face away.
"I don't see you as a problem."
Eliza says trying to salvage the situation.
"Then why do you wanna be friends with me??"
Sirius asks.
"Because…"
Eliza trails off as she comes to the realization that she actually did see Sirius as a problem that needed to be fixed.
"You can't answer right??... That's because you know that you see me as a problem."
Sirius says after which he gets up from the swing and bolts out of the playground.
Eliza tries to call out to him but he doesn't turn back and is soon out of the playground.
Eliza is lost in thought as she sits on the swing Sirius had left vacant with an expressionless look on her face, one of the nuns that was watching over the kids walked up to the swing and tapped Eliza on the shoulder, breaking her train of thought.
"Hello."
Eliza says trying to maintain her composure.
"I know I'm not supposed to be getting involved in whatever caused you to get into an altercation with Sirius but I'm just going to advise you to stay away from the boy."
The nun remarks.
"But why?"
Eliza asks with a raised brow.
"He's a whole lot of trouble, you'd only get yourself into trouble talking with him."
The nun replies.
"But then it doesn't seem like anyone is willing to help him change from his self destructive behavior."
Eliza remarks.
"Don't bother, we have tried to no avail. He gets offended when anyone comes to him trying to help him, I don't know why but that's how it is."
The nun replies.
Eliza puts her head down for a little bit as a thought crosses her mind, she puts her head up not too long after with a smile on her face.
