Klaus walked for quite some time down an interlocked pathway with greenery on both sides of the it, passing a couple of buildings serving different functions and having to greet with other people ranging from workers to passerbys he found loitering around.

The Church of the Damned was actually founded immediately after the events leading to Hellscape.
It was founded by the clergyman that was said to have betrayed the church during the mass ceremony meant to seal shut the breach that had been discovered fifty two years ago by the church thereby leading to the fall of hells gate and the intrusion of the forces of hell into the mortal plane. The name of the clergyman was Judas.
No-one knew the exact details of how the betrayal occurred or what caused the clergyman to betray his fellow brothers and sisters in faith and those that were present in that day chose no to divulge any more information regarding the night that changed the whole world as they knew it.
The clergyman after having betrayed the church, fled from the church headquarters and headed to a desolate land after which he immediately joined hands with the demon princes.
They offered him a position of power amongst the humans as a reward for setting them free which the clergyman accepted without a seconds thought.
He then went ahead to establish the Church of the Damned to take in those that were willing to side with the demons.
He was surprised how it didn't take long before he started to gain members, maybe a sign that there were those that genuinely only cared for chaos and destruction on Earth.
A horrible side of humanity was shown as time went by due to the fact that more and more people flocked to the church.
It grew even further after the events of the First Divine war as a lot of people lost hope that the Church could protect them and felt that the Father had forsaken them.
So in a bid to survive they immediately switched sides and joined the Church of the Damned to conserve their existence hoping that at least their lives and those of their loved ones would be spared.
Judas preached about the demon princes and how they had great plans for them, saying that there were trying to weed out those that would prove detrimental to the rule of the demon god Lucifer, with promises of brighter days ahead and how they would one day claim the Earth.
He was able to build up a loyal and faithful following with even priests breaking rank from the Catholic church to side with him.
Judas was a dangerous man with dangerous ambitions but due to certain things as the years went by, he was no longer the agile one he used to be.
So to make sure that his dreams would be fulfilled even after his death, he searched for a heir and finally picked Klaus as an apprentice to train under him.
Most were dumbfounded by the decision he took but none tried to speak up or go against it as it was known that he had gained powers from selling his soul to the Devil.

Klaus finally reached the study and knocked lightly on the door, a light response is heard from inside telling him to come in which he did promptly.
He comes in and closes the door behind him after which he turns to fix his gaze on an old man who looked to be in his seventies gazing outside through the large window placed at the back of the study room with a good enough view of the sky and the Church's environs.
The old man seems to be lost in thought as he stared with reckless abandon causing Klaus to wonder if he should actually announce his presence.
After some contemplation he decided to do so and let's out a dry cough which jolted the old man from his thoughts with the man acting a little frightened as he shook slightly.
He turns to face Klaus who was already bowing slightly with a hand to his chest and the other placed behind him.
"Your Unholiness."
Klaus greets with the old man waving him after which he rises full length.
"Klaus my boy, you are here… How are you??"
Judas asked with a smile.
"I am fine, your Grace… thank you for your concern, what about you how are you feeling?"
Klaus asks feigning concern.
"I am fine my boy, just old age with its problems as always."
Judas replies with a carefree chuckle.
"Just die already, old man."
Klaus mutters to himself.
"What was that??... Did you say something my boy??"
Judas asks.
"I am asking why you called for me your Grace."
Klaus quickly replies wide eyed with worry that Judas might actually hear him if he didn't keep his thoughts to himself.
"Oh yes, of course. I called for you because I was feeling lonely, so I thought I'd invite you over for a chat."
Judas replies with a chuckle.
"Your Grace??"
Klaus acts as though he didn't hear Judas properly.
"I hope you do not have any problems with that??"
Judas asks with a solemn look.
"Tch… Why you."
Klaus is about to refute the old man's request when a thought crosses through his mind.
Baby's instructions to him before he was chosen to be the successor to Judas….
