Chapter 8 : The Holy knights III

"Holy knights??.... I can't believe they'd come here."

The unknown man remarks with a surprised look on his face….

"No bother, they will not stop my advance merely with their presence."

The unknown man says as he stands to his feet and walks to the head of his beast, with his arms outstretched.

"...Demon art : Revival of the dead."

Soon enough all dead bodies spread across the battlefield begins to rise up and take up arms, heading towards the charging knights.

Alexander notices the movement of the undead and turns his head to see the figure standing atop an unsightly beast.

"Alex!!"

Deborah calls out with urgency in her voice.

"He is the one causing the dead to rise again, we need to get rid of him."

Alex remarks pointing at the man he saw atop the beast.

"I'll take care of it."

Hannah announces as she turns her horse towards the direction that Alex had pointed at and steadies herself. She grabs her bow and pulls out an arrow.

"….O Lord, grant me strength….. Holy artillery : Ahab's arrow."

She let's the arrow fly loose as a white glow began to emanate from it, the arrow moves at close to light speed and hits the man controlling the undead square on the chest, without him being able to avoid it.

"Damn it. What was that??"

The unknown man asks as he tries to pull the arrow out of his chest but then he began to feel his body break down as bright light began to emanate from his body after which he bursts into ashes.

Hannah let's out a grin at the sight and continues on to join the other knights as they had already clashed with the undead on the battlefield.

The arrival of the knights turns the tide of the battle to a more steady affair as they clashed with the undead who wielded weapons of their own.

The clashing of metal rung out across the battlefield as they clashed with more explosions taking place as the undead tried to blow up the knights that stood on their path, this didn't stop the knights as they charged forward in a relentless manner.

"Onward my men. Samson, Xena head for their tanks and destroy them."

Alex orders with a shout.

"Aye. Always with the heavy work, huh.. Holy artillery : Samson's jawbone."

His club glows a bright white as he begins to run through the undead with incredible speed and agility, crushing all that stood in his path, heading for the enemy's tanks.

The undead noticed Samson incoming and turned their heavy artillery towards him after which they shot three rounds at him which erupted into a massive explosion on impact.

Samson leaps into the air and comes down heavily on one of the tanks, smashing it on impact with his club, he immediately leaps again as he noticed another tank turning towards him and destroys it with a mighty swing of his club.

"Tch, you unsightly creatures are not worth my time. Just go back to where you were summoned from."

Samson says with a disgusted look on his face as he headed for another tank.

"Show off."

Xena remarks with a smirk as she heads for another section of tanks aiming at the Holy knights.

Xena cuts through a missile launched at her and leaps forward using the resulting explosion as an added push.

With a swing of her blade she cuts a tank in two through the middle with relative ease.

As a number of the undead rush towards her she readies herself and begins to cut them down relentlessly, swinging her blade in a wild manner.

Alexander sits atop his horse gazing across the battlefield with his brows furrowed, his thoughts are running wild as he wonders if the undead were the only thing they had to battle, his gut made him think otherwise.

"Commander!!"

Deborah calls out as she rides up to Alexander.

"Deborah."

Alex turns to face her as she jolted him from his thoughts.

"I have taken care of the undead leader, I saw him explode myself. What are your orders??"

"If their leader is dead, how come they are still fighting in such a coordinated manner. Is there something I'm not seeing."

Alex mutters to himself with a worry on his face.

"Commander… Is something wrong??"

Deborah asks noticing the changed demeanor of Alex.

"I don't know why but I have this gut feeling that all is not well, something is about to happen. Stay on your guard Deborah, be careful."

Alex replies in a worrisome voice as Deborah just stared at him, wondering what he was on about.

A dark castle is seen on the horizon, it's presence reeks of fear and despair and it stretched a great distance.

Foul creatures could be seen flying around the castle with more walking the grounds of this dark and cold place.

A man can be seen staring at a mirror with flashing images appearing on it.

He looked to be in his thirties with dark eyes and white skin, his hair was tired in a lock behind him and it shone a deep black.

He wore a flowing cloak that went all the way to his ankles with brown sandals to match, he had three rings on each hand, each ring with a varying color and also a necklace across his neck with a profane symbol on it.

There was a seventh ring which he alternated between his thumbs.

Looking closer at the mirror it turns out that it was actually showing images from the battle at the shores of Haven.

The man would sip from a wine glass once in a while as he had a bright smile on his face watching the events unfold on the mirror.

He squinted his eyes when images of the Holy knights came onto the mirror and he beheld the manner in which they dispatched the undead.

His dark smile turned into a frown as anger began to creep into him, dark clouds begin to form close to him and it builds up until a shadowy being appears before him.
