17 Aqfrost's Mayor

"I have an ability that enables me to distinguish a beast in a single glance!" he replied to the man's question as he walked towards the Crystal and took it.

The temple suddenly shook hard as shards of ice fell from the ceiling and from the pedestal where the crystal was once placed. A burst of water shot up quickly, flooding up the place.

"We need to get out of here! Quickly!" Urie shouted as they all hopped at Alpagon's back and ran outside.

Alpagon extended its claws so it can hold a firm grip on the ground and won't accidentally slip.

"Wait! How about the fog outside?" Arie asked as the three of them plunged into a dilemma.

The three were in a panic as they slowly got close to the exit of the temple while the flood was quickly chasing after them.

"We don't know what that water can do to us but it's much safer that we don't get wet with it!" Blue Liquor informed them as they were already a few meters away from the exit of the temple and the fog outside was getting visible.

"Let's just hope that the crystal has something to do with the fog being unable to penetrate through the temple!" Urie shouted with firm faith as he stood at Alpagon's back and firmly clutched the crystal towards his chest.

As soon as Alpagon stepped out of the temple, the crystal shone dimly as it pushed away the fog in their way and the beast didn't stop and kept on running.

From behind them, the water burst out and the valley shook because of the pressure brought by the surge.

Alpagon kept on running as the water quickly tailed behind them. The hanging icicles fell from where they were because of the magnitude of the shaking that the surge brought upon the valley.

Those icicles added another danger for the three, and the beast they were riding.

It kept on falling from the top of the valley as large needles made of ice rain upon them. A dangerous event for the three of them, but they must persevere or it will be their doom when they let their guard down for just a moment.

Urie summoned Hanin, and its evolutions to help them push away the icicles that were about to hit them.

After running away from the dangerous surge of water trailing behind them for a few hours; they reached the end of the valley and successfully escaped from the dreadful event that might destroy Blue Liquor and Arie's progress while it might cost Urie's life.

The three heaved a deep sigh of relief as they observed the valley that was once deep became a large lake connected to a river now.

"Then the temple is now called the Sunken Temple of the Lunar Wolf!" Blue Liquor commented and looked at the lake.

Beasts of both Ice and Water Class slowly emerged from behind the frozen bushes and rushed towards the lake as they enjoyed a pleasant swim in it.

[System]

[Changes have been detected within a certain area. The area of Valley of Night Frost has achieved a substantial change! Report the change to the closest town immediately!]

The notification immediately rang within their heads as the System Notification appeared in front of them. They looked at each other and nodded.

"It's time to head back to the Aqfrost Town!" Urie informed them as they hoped behind Alpagon and went in the direction where the town was located.

As they kept on getting closer towards the town, the density of the players was getting higher because more players were reaching this stage of the town and some were already leaving the town towards the next one.

"We need to hurry and go to the next town so that we won't get left behind by the Mainstream players!" Arie urged as the three immediately went towards the Town Hall as people looked at the beast the three were riding.

"Look! That's an odd-looking beast! I think I haven't seen anything like that?"

"It looks familiar but it couldn't be, right?"

"What thoughts are running through your mind?"

"Well, it looks like a beast that I know, but I doubt if it's from the same family or just looked like it?"

"Really? What beast is that?"

"Baragon, though this one has white crystals behind it but Baragon has different colored crystals and ores behind it, doesn't it?"

"Hmm, now that you mentioned it. You're right! It closely resembled Baragon!"

Some players talked about the strange beast ridden by the group of three, while others already guessed what it was and why it looked like that.

Those who guessed it had the same role as Blue Liquor does.

As the three reached the crowded Town Hall, looking at those people who were accepting some Town Quest, the three went to it and were immediately greeted by a lady.

She was wearing a formal outfit and had long blond hair reaching around her waist. She was tall for the height of a lady and had a slender type of body. A well-looking secretary was the perfect description for her.

"Hi! I've heard from the mayor that you are the people who went to the Valley of Night Frost? He ordered me to fetch you because he has something to discuss with you, by the way, I'm Selena!" The lady introduced as she gestured at them to follow her while Urie immediately turned the exhausted Alpagon back into its card form.

As the three followed the lady, people on the floor looked at them with envy and discussed them.

"Who could those three be? To be welcomed by the secretary of the Mayor, herself?"

"I'm too envious of those brats! Ms. Selena doesn't talk to anyone who doesn't concern her or the mayor, but those three were even welcomed by her? Damn!"

"I wonder if I can be received by the lady the same as them?"

The heated discussion spread all around the hall as the three who were following behind Selena entered a large door, and behind it was a classic-looking office room made of wooden furniture.

Though it might look crude, everything was organized and well-managed.
