Heroic, Selfless and Incredibly Stupid

Sofosys' POV

My hands were still shaking after I had done the dreadful job. I had to carry Linda's corpse and place her in the sidewalk, simulating her death as an unfortunate car accident, all the while trying to hide our own shattering reality. I can safely say that I had never done a more dreadful job in my life. As I looked into Linda's soulless blank eyes, vacantly staring out into the open, I couldn't suppress a sob. I had known this girl for a long time now, and this wasn't the end she deserved.

It was heroic, what she did...it was selfless and incredibly stupid too, given that it had cost her life. But, there's no one to blame, except us, we should never have involved these innocent people in our tangled lives. Michael was right, we had no business putting other's lives in danger to fulfill our selfish goals. I gave Linda a last look, then gently closed her eyes to give her a peaceful sleep and then I turned my back.
