"Never?" I questioned. 

She shook her head. "It remains on the skin. Unless you cut the piece of skin out or burn It. Both are extremely dangerous and life threatening which is why no one ever does it. No one chooses to." She mumbled at the end as if it was something extremely sad. 

"What is a beloved mark?" I stayed on the topic. I have to know more and from what I know about Marilyn she was going to tell me everything until she finally realised not to do it. 

"Well, it's something that binds the souls together. For humans it could be a wedding ring and a certificate issued by the marriage counselor, for us it is the mark on the neck and the change in scent. It means that the person is mated or married to someone."
