Imprisoned - II

Catherine was curled around me when I woke up. I shifted around slightly, giving her my body warmth as much as possible. The thick fabrics of our clothes did absolutely nothing to prevent the cold.

The thick fabric was all we had. I did remember wearing a shawl that Irene had given me when we were taking a walk in the garden but I suppose they had left it there.

She shivered slightly but I could not do anything more than I was already doing to prevent it. She leaned into my warmth, which was the appreciation for my action. At least, we would avoid the conversation as long as she was asleep.
