Already Making Way

Wang Lei sat on the living room floor, surrounded by toys and stuffed animals, playing with Yu Yan's 4-year-old son, Li Jie. The little boy giggled as Wang Lei made silly faces and pretended to be a monster chasing him around the room.

Wang Lei had always been great with kids, and Li Jie was no exception. The little boy had taken to him immediately, and they had been playing together for hours.

As they played, they chatted about all sorts of things. Wang Lei was amazed at how smart and curious Li Jie was, and the little boy was fascinated by everything Wang Lei had to say. They talked about dinosaurs, robots, and space travel, and Wang Lei answered all of Li Jie's questions with patience and kindness.

But as they were playing, Li Jie suddenly turned to Wang Lei and said, "I wish I had a father like you." Wang Lei felt a pang in his heart.
