Queen Kendra

When Zane woke up, he was pissed. He found himself tied to his friends and all of them were tied back to back with each other in a circle.

Zane smirked and tried to break free or transform his hand to claws and cut the weird looking ropes but, he just couldn't.

"Oh great you are awake",said Laurel who has tied just beside him.

Zane sighed and said,"Of all the people I could have been tied with....it had to be you"

"Yeah",said Laurel playfully,"And look who is your other mate"

Zane looked right and found Scarlett staring at him.

Zane flinched. "Have you been staring at me like this since I was passed out?!"

"Yeah....your mouth remains open when you sleep and it's kind of weird actually because you keep making this face and opening your mouth and closing it like you were biting something but you are actually not", said Scarlett

"That was very intrusive of you",said Zane grumpily.

Actually Zane had been dreaming about something. He was remembering how his mother taught him to eat meat as a wolf. How to keep his paw and chew. He had been dreaming about that.

Laurel laughed and said,"Creepy....what kind of dreams were you having?!"

Zane frowned then sighed,"Laurel why does your mind always go to the ugly side of the matter?"

Laurel shrugged and ,"Hey my mind is built like that!"

"Okay, can you tell me if you are powers are working are not? Because my powers are not.... working",said Zane

Laurel pouted and said,"Oh dear, your powers are super hearing and....I guess sword fighting"

Zane inhaled sharply and tried to control his anger.

"Just tell me if you are having difficulty with your powers or not?"

Laurel nodded and sighed," Yes okay, you got me. My power's not working"

"What have they done to us?",asked Zane

"I guess it was the gas we inhaled",said Laurel

"Yeah ....I think so too",said Zane. "What do they want?!"

"To talk",said Scarlett. "They said that before you four came. They wanted to talk"

"Yeah I noticed we aren't being gagged",said Laurel.

A big man in black robes entered. He a sword in his hand and he spoke,"We come here to take you to the queen"

"And who is the queen? The only queen I see here is me",said Laurel sarcastically.

"You all think this is a joke",said the man with a thick accent. "I will see where your humour goes when you are forced to kill your friends to survive"

Laurel's smile faded. "What do you mean?!"

"Queen Kendra demands to see you all",said the man

"You keep saying that!"

"And what makes you think we want to see her?",asked Natalie

"You have no choice",said the man

"Oh yeah",said Emily,"Take us to her, I will have a good time freezing her to death after she sent you all to kill our friend Aidan"

"That boy and the storm girl shouldn't have interrupted. We could have taken you all without any bloodshed. His blood is on all your hands",said the big man

"What?!",shouted Derek,"You guys were shooting arrows at us! How else did you expect us to respond?!"

"I told you. We did not want any bloodshed. We were shooting arrows to inform you of our presence",said the man

They scoffed.

"Wait a second ",said Bennett confusingly. "Didn't Eva tell us about queen Isabella? We don't know who Kendra is"

The man edged closer to Bennett and knelt. He had too many scars on his face.

"Queen Isabella is the nemesis of Queen Kendra",he said, broodingly

"Well that makes sense",said Emily. "We were being trained for Queen Isabella and you all are here to take us to queen Kendra! She wants our powers for herself!"

Natalie smiled. "Tell her that's never gonna happen"

The man grunted. "You all don't know how lucky you are! Queen Kendra is saving you!"

"What does that mean?",asked Helen

"It means that all of you but one were going to be killed! ", shouted the man. "You all were expendible! Queen Isabella had already decided that! Every year she does that with innocent children! This year we were ordered to save you before she could kill nine of you"

"Yeah well...pity u killed one of us first",said Bennett

"Sometimes....you have to take one life in order to save hundreds. I did what I had to"

"Aidan was not a threat to anybody! You shot him and he bled to death! We lost another team member, Alice because she apparently wouldn't go anywhere without him",said Laurel. "And Eva told us she wouldn't harm any of us. She had already saved us by taking us in the orphanage! Why would she train us and save us only to kill us in the end?"

"She was raising pigs for slaughter?"

"No no no, Eva is not evil",said the man. "She is the one who helped us. She knew what Queen Isabella would do and she tipped Queen Kendra to save you all. And she gave us your location."

"You wouldn't happen to know why some of us were seeing our dead parents before you attacked, would you?",asked Helen

"Well...Eva might have to do something with that",said he. "She might have sprayed your clothes with Ferupke which caused you all to hallucinate, but now it's fine."

"Okay so you're saying all that time we were high?"

"Yes "

"Well that's nice to hear",said Laurel. "So what are you planning to do with us?"

The man didn't reply to Laurel's question. He beckoned to the other men outside and the two of them came in.

"Gas them and make sure they are unconscious before the ride", whispered the man

The other two men nodded and left the tent. Most probably to fetch the gas.

"Hey we are not really comfortable with being gassed! It's fine you can take us but you don't need to-"

Before Laurel could complete her sentence, the tent filled up with green gas and all of them went unconscious
