So painful.

Zyda was so shocked to find her mum's photo in Lord Hogan's book. She closed her mouth with her palm, her eyes watery. She felt so painful that her heart clenched. She recalled the day a black van arrived at their house just to deliver two coffins. Instead of hugs and smiles, it was just a day for delivering white flowers and bidding painful goodbyes. She had stared at the photo for a long time unaware of the warm liquid staining her cheeks.

Suddenly, the door creaked open and Lord Hogan entered the study. His body immediately stilled as he glanced at Zyda's backside with a photo in hand. He immediately knew what's happened. For a moment he felt his heart thump from his throat. Worst of all, Zyda turned to look at him. Her eyes were moist and almost red. His heart tugged as he looked at her expression.

"How did I forget to hide the photo?" He blamed himself in his mind. He quickly composed himself and sauntered towards his desk.
