Where are you?

"FASTER, Dad! Faster!" Sora rolled his eyes as he watched his father walked at a normal pace. Why doesn't he get the urgency? A girl can be dead by now and his father was just like that. Walking as his he was walking in the moon.

"Finally," He cannot hide his annoyance when his father finally reached the entrance of the forest. "Why are you so slow? What would you do if the girl is eaten by that giant wolf?"

He even tsked at his father. He just stopped when he realized what he did. His mother didn't like it when he does that and would get a smack on the head.

Sora took a peek at his father. It was then he noticed that he wasn't smiling instead his face was all serious as his eyes roamed around the entrance. Eyes darted from trees to trees. High and low until it stopped at him.

Sora quickly withdraws his stare, afraid that he was angry at what he did.

Sora heard his father chuckled. "What are you waiting for, Sora? Lead the way. Where did you see this…giant wolf?"

{He wasn't angry? Is he believing me now? Did he saw a trace of the wolf?} Sora wanted to ask his father all of that but kept his mouth shut. Remembered his father slightly laughing earlier. Why did he forget about that? His father still isn't believing him.

"This way, dad," he stepped forward from up until where he and Dandy got separated. He looked around for clues that there was really a wolf but alas, there was none.

No footprints. No broken branches. No none whatsoever.

"Sora? What are you looking for?" His father called when he arrived from where he is.

"This is where I last see it. This is where he grabbed Dandy from me."

"Dandy?"

"Yes!" He slides his hand to his face with frustration. "I already told you. The girl. Her name is Dandy. And she got—"

"—dragged away. Yes. Yes." Seri nodded as he looked around in the area. "But where is it now? Hmm?" With hands in his pocket, he looked back at Sora. Challenging him with the way he smiled as if saying 'I told you there wasn't any.'

"It went this way," he pointed to the inner part of the forest.

Seri sighed and just let his son lead the way. Sora should be happy or relieved that his father was believing him. That he was there and listening to what he was saying. But he knew that he was just indulging him.

Instead of arguing with Seri, he just leads the way. He was too angry to look back and just walked ahead. He walked and walked up to where his mind can remember.

Earlier, he recalled running straight before arriving at the part where Dandy was snatched. And it should be long until he reached the flowerbed. How long did he run? He didn't run as fast as he could since he was thinking of Dandy, that she might trip or her body cannot take running too fast.

{Where is it?} He kept saying that as his eyes were looking for that pool of yellow flowers.

He stopped on his track when he saw a glimpse of something moving. There was someone with him. Following him. It was too quiet but he was sure he saw someone.

"W-who are you? D-Dandy? Whoever you are…I'm… I'm with my father. You cannot harm me," Sora tried his best to not stutter but failed greatly. The forest is starting to get dark added on how he remembered how big that wolf was, his heart cannot take it if it would pounce on him. He would be dead for sure.

"Sora?"

A scream escaped sora's lips when out of nowhere his father emerged from the bushes. His father was shocked, too as his eyes were wide as to how his mouth dropped open.

And before Sora could even retaliate to his father, Seri laughed so hard that the silence of the forest got disturbed.

"Dad!" Sora exclaimed as he stomps his foot on the ground.

"Sorry. Sorry," Seri was still laughing as he held his tummy. "Come on, kid. Let's just go back. I will ask the police station to look into it. It is not safe here. There may or may not be a wolf, but I am sure snakes are laying around there. Let's go."

Sora didn't budge on where he was standing. He knew that if they would get out now, they would never go back. "Call them now. Ask them if there are any girl was missing."

Seri looked at him. The laugh in his eyes was now gone. And it was the first time that Sora looked at his father's eyes. All through his life, he never ever looked at him when he gets serious like that. No never. But not today.

Sora stood his ground as he waited for his father to take out his phone.

Seri resigned and took out his cellphone in his pocket. Without taking his eyes off of Sora, he called the police station. "Hey there, chief. Yeah…we're getting by…Yeah…We'll I just called if there was any reported missing girl? Yeah…My son, said he saw a girl in the forest. She got dragged by a big wolf…"

There was a long pause in the conversation. Sora may not clearly hear what the other line was saying but he was kind of relieved that his father did really call.

"Sora," Seri then asked, "What was she looked like?"

"Her name's Dandy," he started and his father relied on the information he was saying to the other line. "She wears a white dress and… She has yellow hair. It was long. It covered her whole back. And…and her eyes were blue. Her nose is small, too, like baby tomatoes. Her face is just as big as your one hand, dad. And she was smaller than me. Just here," he hand reached below his chin.

Seri nodded and looked away as he kept talking to someone on the other line. Sora waited for them to finish. He looked around again, waiting for something. Something he could follow.

It was then the wind blew and it smelled like morning dew. {Morning dew in the evening?}

Sora looked from where the wind came from. But saw nothing. He then looked at his father, and it doesn't look like he smelled or feel anything. But Sora was sure there was something.

He was about to walk towards where the wind went when his father held his shoulder. "We should go back. The chief said that they would look into it. There was no missing girl with the same description you mentioned. But the wolf that you were saying, that they cannot ignore. As this forest is near the elementary school."

"But—"

"Hasusora," when his father called him by his full name, Sora knew that he cannot have his way anymore. "Let's go home. For now. You can look for her anytime you want. Only. Only if the officers can clear that there aren't any wolves in the forest.

"And if there is, it is not safe for us to be here, too." Seri continued. He then knelt in front of Sora. "I understand that you are worried for her. But I am worried about your safety. So let us go back. Please, Sora."

What his father said makes sense. Well, at least he listened to him. Sora just nodded. Seri tapped his shoulder and lead him out of the forest. He started to walk back not noticing that his father didn't follow him right away. Mind was occupied with worry.

{Dandy, please be safe.}
