You're really weird.

Chapter 66: You're really weird.

Torsen looked over at Paul, who was now lying unconscious on the ground and then looked down at his hand to where he was holding a pocket watch that he had chained to the inside of his jacket.

"One minute and thirteen seconds. Well, he made it somehow, but he is seriously lacking in the ability to fight, But I guess his dodging makes up for that."

As soon as Torsen said that Paul had passed the test, the girl he had fought against him quickly ran over and knelt by his side before raising her hands towards him.

A golden yellow glow began to form around her hands before surrounding Paul's body in an attempt to heal him. But as Torsen had said before the fight. There was a barrier placed around the stage to stop people from getting injured when they fought within it.

"Healing him won't do anything. He has just exhausted most of his Qi. He will be fine with a little bit of rest. Just take him to the infirmary and let the doctor give him a Qi absorbing elixir." Torsen instructed to which the girl nodded her head and struggled to carry Paul away but somehow, she managed to despite being smaller than him.

"Okay, on to the next match. If you picked number two, then go up onto the stage and prepare. I will give you ten seconds to take out whatever weapons you need to begin. Then I will tell you to start." Torsen said as a look of interest now washed over him as he looked at Micah.

He looked oddly calm and collected for someone with no combat experience like he already knew that he would win. And even Kalon caught onto the fact that he was way too calm for someone who was going to fight. But that only meant that he had the confidence to win or at least not get injured.

Micah walked up onto the stage and waited for his opponent without even looking in the direction of the weapons that were sitting in racks and waiting for whoever needed them to pick them up to fight with. On the other hand, his opponent reached down to his belt and lifted a small leather pouch before sticking his hand inside it for a few moments. He walked up onto the stage and then pulled out a long spear from inside his universe bag.

"Hey, Aren't you going to use a weapon? You're not underestimating me, are you?" The boy asked as he walked towards Micah with his spear pointed upwards.

"Don't worry about me. I just don't want to embarrass you, so I won't use a weapon." Micah said with a straight face like he genuinely meant what he was saying and wasn't just trying to mock the student who was holding a spear.

The student gritted his teeth as he looked at Micah with an enraged look on his face.

"Hmph, I was trying to give you a chance. But if you are going to say something so arrogantly, then I will have to show you the difference between someone you and someone at the core refining stage." The student with the spear said with a grin on his face just as Torsen announced the start of the fight.

"Since you are both obviously ready, then feel free to start whenever you want to," Torsen said before standing back and watching. He knew that there was a whole stage of cultivation between the two of them. But that didn't necessarily mean that the person with the higher cultivation would win.

Actual combat depended on many factors, such as outsmarting your enemy or using the terrain to your advantage but since they were fighting on equal terms. Inside an arena, those factors would be useless. But the main factor was combat experience and techniques.

You could learn a strong technique at a low cultivation stage and be able to rival the mid levelled techniques of someone stronger than you, although it took lots of training to reach that point. But given Micah's lack of reaction when the student stated that he had reached the core refining stage, it was likely that Micah had fought people much tougher than himself before and didn't care about the formalities of strength. He had his own way to win.

As soon as Torsen announced that they could fight whenever they wanted to, The student that Micah had taunted ran forwards with his spear outstretched and aimed for Micah's chest.

His movements were fast and precise, and as both Kalon and Torsen watched on, it looked as though Micah would have no chance to avoid the attack, but as the attack made contact with his body, the student holding the spear suddenly collapsed to the floor.

Micah continued to look straight ahead with a spear sticking out of his chest. Before his body turned into dust, he vanished for a few moments before appearing again, but this time he was standing behind the student lying on the ground.

"An afterimage technique? And your speed is fantastic. Even I could barely keep up with your movements. I can see that you have been trained in the arts of stealth. You will be glad to know that the leader of the assassins guild is also a combat instructor here at frisson academy.

I can see you have a promising future. Congratulations! You have passed this test with flying colours. Once you take your opponent to the infirmary, the instructor for your next exam will meet you there and take you to the next exam. Now go quickly. I have things to do after this." Torsen said to Micah with a proud look on his face.

Previously he looked doubtful that any of them would pass the exam. But both Paul and Micah had surprised him and gone beyond his expectations. But as he turned back to look at Kalon and the remaining muscular student, he sighed and looked up at the sky.

"You two can now go up. But don't start until I say so. I don't want a repeat of last week. Okay?" Torsen said as he directed his gaze towards the muscular student who Kalon would be fighting.

'I wonder what happened last week?' Kalon thought as he walked up onto the stage to see that Micah struggled to carry the boy over his shoulder.

"Congrats. That was amazing. You moved so fast that it was hard to keep up." Kalon said with a smile as he praised Micah for his efforts, but Micah looked at him with his eyebrows slightly raised as soon as he spoke.

"You could still see me after I used my technique?" Micah asked, surprised by Kalon's comment. It seemed as though his technique was supposed to be beyond the comprehension of a twelve-year-old boy. But after being attacked by both werewolves and vampires, Kalon's eyes had naturally adjusted to be able to follow the speed of their attacks. Even if he couldn't move his body to avoid them, his eyes still managed to keep up just like they had done with Micah's attack, which rivalled the speed of a vampire.

"Yeah, But it was still too fast for me to be able to avoid it. It was really impressive." Kalon said with a smile as he gave Micah some more praise as he managed to find his balance with the student slumped over his shoulder.

"You're really weird," Micah said as he looked at Kalon with confusion like he didn't know what exactly he was looking at. Before walking down from the stage and through the set of doors that the girl had taken Paul through.
