(Flashback continues from Wang Zhao's POV)
After parting ways with Sang Qian that night, he was at peace. He thought finally there was something different about her. She was a little mature than she had expected and she even looked beautiful. But, then he received a text from Mi Chan. He frowned, its too late.
'I want to take a leave for two days due to some urgent family work. Please understand. I will submit my leave tomorrow morning.'
He frowned, why all of a sudden? Was everything all right. Mi Chan lived alone, moreover she said she doesn't live with her parents as she didn't have good connections with her family. She didn't even have a guardian or a spouse.
Not hesitating for a second, he dialled her number. The phone was answered shortly," Hello, Mr. Wang Zhao." Her voice seemed hoarse and a little dry. He frowned deeper," Are You ok?" He didn't even know when the words escaped his lips. He was worried about her.
Mi Chan's voice was again heard," Yes sir, I am totally fine. I was just a little tired. I will contact you later. Good night." He gulped," wait! Send me your address." She sighed," I am not in the city right now. And I am not lying. I have some work."
He sighed," Fine. Take care. Call me if you need anything." He didn't care what she would think. He had to reassure himself. After he was done, he ended the call and let out a deep sigh.

Since that night , Wang Zhao was not in a good mood, he hadn't got any call from Mi Chan. Even Sang Qian has not yet answered him after that night. He sighed, he was troubled wondering about both the answers. On top, their was no one to entertain him with silly jokes and cuteness. The work pressure was getting over his head.
He was brought back to senses after a 'Ting' Sound. He raised his head to look at the laptop screen, an email from Sang Qian? He felt anxious as he clicked on it. But after reading an affirmative answer he was relieved. A smile popped up on his face as she left an informal note at the end saying ," The kiddo who pestered you to marry her."
He sighed, he would be surprised if she changed these silly habits of her. Sang Qian can't exist without these. He smiled and replied almost immediately," Thank-you. looking forward to the official launch. Let's meet tomorrow."
He was relieved again so he started working again and soon enough he heard a knock on the door. He voiced out without looking up," Come in." He soon heard clicking of heels and a sweet voice," Good morning, Sir. I report back to work." His ears perked up, and his eyes shot up. He saw Mi Chan smiling ear to ear.
She seemed in a brighter mood, her skin was rather glowing. Did she take a secret visit to a salon or something? He instantly walked up to her and pulled her in a hug," where were you?" Mi Chan was shocked and stiff but he could care less. Instead when he hugged he, he himself was surprised. But he couldn't hold himself back. He was falling for her and they both knew it.
After he pulled away, a smile made it's way on her lips," I was out for some family work. Now I am back. But, I might have to go once in a while." He held her by her arms," I was worried." She bit her lip," I see." He cleared his throat," Don't do that." She froze and stepped away," I will bring you your coffee."
He nodded and she left. He wondered what got into him. A subtle smile was on his face as he scratched the back of his neck. His reaction was very impulsive. He should've been patient. Was it too much? Nah, he didn't think so. Was someone blushing?

A week had passed, everything was going well, the project, his relationship with Sang Qian was on a good note. On one side, he was happy to he friends with Sang Qian and on the other he was getting closer to Mi Chan. He had started expressing himself around her. Mi Chan was also giving back the same energy.
They had a very close relationship by then. He was working in his office as usual when his father contacted him, asking him to join the Gala by the Li's. But what concerned him was when he was asked to take Sang Qian as his partner. He wanted to take Mi Chan with him but he couldn't help it. In the end he agreed and he texted Sang Qian asking her for the night. She happily agreed to him.
He gave Mi Chan the invitation letter," be there as my assistant." She smiled," I have never been to a gala before." He smiled back," It's okay, you can be by my side." She furrowed her brows," aren't you going with Sister Qian?" He sighed," She loved your company last time."
Mi Chan nodded and he sighed," Go and get yourself a pretty dress and also pretty up a little bit. You have a enough time to go to a salon. Here take this card." He handed her a black card. She gulped," I don't need this. I have enough money now." He smiled," It's a gift from me, take it." She was hesitant so he smiled," would you take it or should we go together to buy something for you."
She knew, if he accompanied her, he would buy her the most expensive things out there. So she accepted the card and took her leave. He smiled as he saw her smiling as she walked out. He sighed and he got back to work.

Wang Zhao looked at himself in the mirror, he was dressed up in wine coloured suit. He looked good, even though these colourful suits wasn't his thing. He could manage for this one night. He made sure his hair were all set before he made his way out of his apartment to Sang Qian's floor. They were going together this time. He rang the bell very casually. She was a good friend now, and moreover he had known her since she was young.
He heard a faint," Wait for sometime." He rolled his eyes, what was she doing inside? He dialled Mi Chan's number. The phone was answered shortly. A smile made it's way on his lips as he wondered what she would look like," are you ready?... I had sent a driver on your address. He will make sure you reach safely."
He ended the call, and just then the door creek opened, he looked up just to see Sang Qian dressed in a peach silk gown. Her dress was long and pooled lightly around her feet. She was looking beautiful, he wouldn't deny his heart almost skipped a beat but then, he was loyal to the one he liked. He simply smiled," you look shorter today."
Sang Qian sighed," I am not wearing heels, come inside. I need a minute yet." Her hair were curled and swayed when she turned around. He could see the faint trace of her curves as she walked. He looked away and sighed. She was indeed a woman now.
He examined her apartment, which was exceptionally clean and tidy. He nodded his head, at-least, she isn't a mess.

As soon as they stepped out of the car, he held her hand in a gentlemanly manner. He knew he had to do this much. He was a gentleman but then, he saw Mi Chan stepping out. His breath was stuck in his throat, she looked splendidly beautiful.
Her lemon shaded glittery gown was hugging her body. It was off-shoulder revealing her sharp shoulder blades. He was mesmerized. He looked back at Sang Qian," you go ahead. I will be coming after you." She smiled at him and started walking ahead.
He took large steps towards Mi Chan. She looked in his direction and smiled. He smiled back and then he held out his hand for her. She held it and his heart almost jumped out of his heart when their skin came in contact. Wang Zhao was determined to make her his, no matter what. He liked her, maybe more than that, and he knew it.
At that time there was always an innocent shine in Mi Chan's eyes. She was the most innocent and at the same time sharp girl he had ever met. And that was probably what he thought.

A/N- this chapter was probably not necessary but I am writing this to give you a clear understanding of Wang Zhao's relationship with Mi Chan and his perspective.
In Conclusion, he preferred Mi Chan over Sang Qian, little did he know that Sang Qian was a good catch. In the end, his heart won, never did he ever suspect Mi Chan's behaviour or maybe, it was time, that brought the change in her.
Maybe she never intended to do anything wrong to him. Maybe she was also a victim. Millions of possibilities and perspectives. But in the end, all that matters is what we believe in. It will be fun to see, what turns out to be reality.
PS- this story is for the villainess, and she will always be outshining everyone around her. Wink!
