He looked up and their eyes met. She looked away. This man was getting married the very next day! Mi Chan failed to notice and simply nodded. "Is that yours?" Mi Chan asked as she pointed at the fallen hairpin.
Sang Qian bent down," yes!" She frowned, and then tucked behind the hair, which covered her face. She got up and hissed in annoyance. "Oh, C'mon!"
The door bell rang again. Mi Chan who was busy laughing straightened up and walked to the door.
Sang Qian decided to tie her hair. She gathered them all together and made a knotted bun. Her bangs covered the side of her face but she didn't know her actions were affecting someone.
Wang Zhao had his eyes fixed on her and suddenly looked in the direction of door before Sang Qian could even notice his intense stare. She turned her head around and saw Ji Jin and Wang Yuhan enter. And then someone yelled lightly. Everyone was surprised. She then saw Qin Si enter.
Sang Qian sighed. "Where did I get such a noisy best friend?!" She complained with a pout and hugged Qin Si who came running towards her. Ji Jin also walked to Sang Qian giving her a hug.
Wang Yuhan on the other hand gave a brotherly hug to Wang Yuhan. "I see, this is indeed a very luxurious apartment." Wang Zhao smirked as a response to his statement.
Mi Chan smiled at the people in her apartment. Even though she wasn't much comfortable and close to them, she just hoped to be treated nicely. Ji Jin walked to Mi Chan and grabbed her hand. "Why stand there? Come and sit with us." A feeling of warmth washed over Mi Chan's heart.
Sang Qian asked everyone to move to the couches rather than sitting around the dining table yet. Something caught her attention. "Why are Yuhan and Jin wearing matching outfits?" She asked out loud.
Yuhan was wearing a black formal shirt paired with black pants. Ji Jin was wearing a black dress which reached her knees. Qin Si added,"Jin rarely dresses like this, did you guys go on a date before?"
Both Jin and Yuhan shared a look. "No, Yuhan bought me this dress as an advance birthday gift." Ji Jin mumbled and tried not to look at Yuhan who was smiling subtly. He simply walked back to his brother who was in the Kitchen pouring drinks for everyone else too.
Sang Qian winked at Qin Si. "I told you, something is up with them. They're just hiding it."
"No! Don't make a big deal out it." Ji Jin pouted her lips.
Wang Yuhan looked at her from the kitchen. "She looks better in these dresses. That is why I bought her one." He said loud enough for Wang Zhao to hear.
"You like her don't you?" Wang Zhao asked with a curious look.
"I will go and serve these." Yuhan walked away picking up the tray with the starter drink. Wang Zhao's phone buzzed. He pulled it out and saw a notification from Li Zinhuo. He frowned when he read his text that he wouldn't make it. He had to visit his mother since she demanded him to.
He promised he would be back the next day. Wang Zhao's lips twitched. He knee the party was going to be boring already. He looked at others as they chatted. He noticed Mi Chan's subtle smile as she looked at Sang Qian's smiling face.
He frowned, when did Mi Chan start liking Sang Qian? He questioned himself. His eyes then turned to Sang Qian who had her hair tied in a bun revealing her neckline. She was smiling ear to ear as Ji Jin made a sarcastic remark.
He pursed his lips. "Not again," he mumbled. He looked up and his eyes met with a smirking Yuhan. His brother had clearly noticed him eying Sang Qian. He didn't care and simply walked over. "Li Zinhuo would not come."
"Why?" Mi Chan's instant reply intrigued everyone. They themselves her surprised but she had a very serious expression on her face. Even Wang Zhao frowned at her. After realizing what she did, she calmed her facial expressions. "I mean, everyone is here, why won't he be here? He is your best friend after all."
"Don't worry Mi Chan, I am fine on my own. He said he needed to visit his mother." Wang Zhao's words were cold and everyone didn't miss it especially, Sang Qian.
"I guess we should have dinner before you all have drinks." Mi Chan reminded everyone and they agreed. On the huge table, Mi Chan was sitting in the middle of Wang Zhao and Ji Jin. Opposite to them were, Wang Yuhan facing Ji Jin, Sang Qian facing Wang Zhao.
Mi Chan was in the middle facing Qin Si. Wang Yuhan couldn't take his eyes off Ji Jin. She was rather cute, he didn't notice that before. She lifted her head up and their eyes met. A wave of current passed through her whole body. She shivered lightly, under the intense stare.
He smirked and looked down, knowing that he clearly had an effect on her. Wang Zhao looked not so pleased, sitting opposite to Sang Qian. He tried to keep his eyes off her as much as he could.
"Guys! Start eating. Wang Zhao has specially prepared the meal himself." Mi Chan stated. Sang Qian raised her brows in amazement when she looked at the dishes across the table. She looked up at him. "Really?"
Everyone chuckled at her cute expression. She was so serious. Wang Zhao's lips curved upwards. "Yes," he replied calmly. She nodded her head in an impressed manner.
Then they had their dinner. Sang Qian wasn't talking much, Wang Zhao either. Wang Yuhan, Qin Si, Ji Jin and Mi Chan were talking about some random topics and sharing their experiences. Sang Qian would occasionally make a sarcastic remark or tease others.
Her mind was occupied by her plan. She wanted it to execute just right. She noticed how Wang Zhao would lovingly look at Mi Chan whenever she would laugh. She suddenly realized something. Maybe she was thinking too much the other day. They both suited each other and looked good together.
She gulped lightly and decided to go with flow. She already changed her mind again. She couldn't do it. She twitched her lips very lightly. Her breathing pattern wasn't stable. Her face had dropped it's calmness and glimmered with coldness.
She cursed silently and suddenly she looked up and her eyes met with Wang Zhao. She was surprised. Did he notice her irritated expressions? She avoided the eye contact and looked down again. She stuffed her mouth silently.
Wang Yuhan had noticed their interactions. He had a feeling that something was not right. It's either they would end up together or they were both hiding something. It could never be peaceful when Sang Qian and Wang Zhao were under the same roof.

"The food was really tasty." Yuhan mumbled as he dozed off to sleep in an instant. Ji Jin who was sitting beside him had a shocked expression. "How much did you guys drink?" She complained when she looked at both brothers.
Wang Zhao was also slumped on the couch. He had his eyes closed. Mi Chan covered her nose. "Oh my god, they stink. I would.." she ran to the bathroom. She wanted to puke. Qin Si followed her inside.
Sang Qian smiled lightly. "Fate doesn't want me to help you anymore Zhao." She mumbled as she stared at his sleeping face. A sad smile tucked on her lips. Ji Jin twitched her lips. "I would take Yuhan back home." She said and tried to wake him up. He stirred and she pulled him up. "Let's go."
Sang Qian shook her head. "Why did we leave you two alone here?" She asked herself.
After the dinner the ladies decided to take a tour of the place and ended up on the top most room talking about random stuff for almost two to three hours. When they returned they saw the two brothers laughing loudly for no reason and they both closed their eyes leaning back against the couch.
She knew Wang Zhao wasn't asleep. She looked back and saw Mi Chan.
"I am sorry, I am not feeling well. I will leave now." Mi Chan said and walked out with her nose covered. She couldn't stand the odour of Alcohol.
Qin Si winked at Sang Qian. "He is all yours." She followed Mi Chan outside.
Sang Qian had an awkward expression as she looked back at Wang Zhao. Mi Chan was so careless. She noticed him open his eyes slowly. Her heart skipped a beat when he got up abruptly and walked to her side. She stepped back and he smiled foolishly. A confused Question mark appeared on her face.
He patted her head. "My Villainess." He chuckled and she let out an annoyed scoff. "You! seriously!" She complained and held his arm. "Let me help you to your room." He didn't protest anymore and suddenly all his weight was on her. She stumbled but balanced herself in time.
Her one arm was around his waist as she shook him. "Wake up!" She complained. And started ascending the staircase. Her face had an annoyed expression as it was not easy to carry a big Man's weight. The fact that she worked out on a regular basis was what kept her fit and gave her enough strength.
After they reached the door. She turned to look at him. He was not asleep but not conscious enough either. She remembered which room was his because Mi Chan told them while giving the house tour. She turned the door knob and a sigh escaped her lips. The room yet smelled of new furniture. It was evident that everything was new.
She kicked the door open and walked in with his weight still on her. As soon as she reached the bed she pushed him on the bed. A sigh escaped her lips. "Thank god! My shoulders!" Her right shoulder was aching badly due to the heavy weight leaning on her.
She peered at him. "You fool! Why did you have to drink so much?" She cursed as she stretched her neck from side to side. "What a nuisance!" She noticed the uncomfortable clothing and twitched her lips. She noticed all the accessories he was wearing.
She pursed her lips and leaned closer. He was asleep? She was not sure but she wanted to leave as soon as possible. She leaned forward to remove the watch from his wrist. Then she pulled his phone out from the pocket. She was about to remove the belt when her hand stopped.
She instead pulled his rolled sleeves down very lightly. Her heart was beating in her chest, not because of her actions but thinking about what would he think if he woke up? She gulped lightly and then placed everything on the nightstand.
She patted his cheek. "Zhao, sleep properly. That's a weird position." But she was ignored. She removed his shoes with a disgusted expression on her face. She had never done this before. Thank god his feet didn't stink. She quickly walked to the bathroom to wash her hands. When she returned, he had turned around facing the other side.
She walked to his side and covered him with the duvet. She let out a deep breath. This is what she wanted. To care for him, how come he never noticed her actions? She smiled sadly.
She took a seat on the floor beside him. She stared at his face. "I failed!" She muttered.
