Suggestion

"What's up?" Keith asked as he answered the phone seeing that the call was from Chester.

"Perhaps you forgot while you're off lollygagging that there was something I had asked you to have ready for a meeting I have to do?" He could tell by the tone of his voice that the was annoyed.

"Technically not off lollygagging, just having a late lunch which I think I'm allowed to do." Keith replied back jokingly as he motioned for Apryl to continue eating while took the call.

"And I didn't forget, it should be printed out and sitting on the desk where I usually work. I even left a sticky note on it so everyone would know it's for you to pick up." He explained as he grabbed one of the fries off his plate to snack.

"You realize the meeting is in fifteen minutes. I might not have enough time to go and fetch it before the meeting starts. You could've left it with me beforehand if you knew you would be leaving for lunch."

"I kind of got the times mixed up and forgot to text you to let you know it's ready. Maybe Callum can get it for you instead?" Keith suggested feeling slightly bad that he forgot to text the other before he left for lunch.

"Callum isn't here today." Chester replied sounding a bit annoyed by this.

"He wasn't feeling well today and decided to stay home and rest." Oh well, I hope he feels better soon. Tell you what, let me ask and see if I can call in a favor to have someone I work with deliver it for you. If you don't mind md ending the call?" Keith offered trying to think of a solution since he knew that there was no way that he would be back on campus in enough time to do it without interrupting the meeting that Chester would be in.

"Please do. Next time, you might want to set a timer so that you don't forgot or text me as soon as you're done so that I can make the appropriate arrangements to handle such things." Chester replied.

"Right, right. I'll make sure I do that next time. I'll talk to you later, just let me get this taken care of." Keith told the other, ending the phone call once the other had agreed to what he said.

"Sorry about that." Keith told Apryl as he scrolled through his phone to find the right contact that he was looking for. He was pretty sure that the other guy he was working with should've been available since the afternoon didn't tend to be that busy.

"It's okay." Apryl replied as she continued to eat.

"I guess that was Chester?" She asked as the other texted furiously on his phone hoping that his colleague would reply and do him a favor that would keep him from being on Chester's bad side for the next few weeks.

"Yep. I kind of forgot to take care of something before I left so now he's not exactly in the best of moods. Trying to resolve the problem before it turns into something bigger." Keith replied, taking a drink as he waited for his phone to show that the other had read his text message.

"Would it be better if you left now then to take care of it? We can finish this conversation at another time?" Apryl asked. Having only heard part of the conversation, she wasn't sure how serious the matter was.

"Nah. As I was telling him, I wouldn't be able to make it back in time anyways. Instead I'm seeing if someone will be willing to do me a favor since they owe me one anyways." he explained feeling a slight amount of relief flood him when he saw that the other had read his text and replying.

"Problem will be solved with this and Chester shouldn't breath down my neck as long as the next time I make sure not to forget something this important."

"Why does he always ask you to do so much for him?" Apryl suddenly asked curious why Keith always seemed to be a large part of what Chester was working on at the school.

"That would be because I work in the department that helps provide him the information he needs to support proposals that he pitches as the student body president." Keith explained.

"I'm also one of few people he can rely on to have something together in record time for him if he needs it." He added on as he finished texting. Putting his down he knew that he could focus back on eating since his colleague had agreed to do this favor for him. Now he would just have to wait for the text back letting him know that everything went smoothly.

"So it's a really big deal in other words what Chester is doing on campus?" Apryl clarified wanting to understand more about what he did.

"In a sense yes since he's and technically it would be the rest of his team if he had one are responsible or representing all of the students on the campus and being their voice when it comes to petition for changes or additions to items on the campus, regulations, and such." Keith replied as he went back to eating.

"If you're interested they do hold an open meeting once a month. I could bring you along if you'd like so you can see first-hand what goes on." He offered.

"It'll depend on what's going on with everything by the time the meeting would be, but I think that it would be interesting to join." Apryl replied honestly. Keith grinned when she said this.

"Well if you happen to enjoy it you might be able to ask Chester if you could run to join his team. Then he would at least have someone else reliable working with him." Apryl paused for a second as she thought about it but shook her head.

"I don't think that will be likely to happen. Sounds like a lot of trouble for someone just starting college. Plus, there's so much I still don't know that I don't actually think I would be able to help all that much even if I did make the offer. I also don't think that he likes me enough to agree to something like that."

"I don't think that you need to worry about that as much as you do. By the time that would actually happen I think that he would be warmed up to you more than you think. It was just a suggestion anyways, something to think about that you could do to add to your skillset and put down when you're looking for jobs." Apryl made a face when he said this.

"I'm still trying to get the basic parts of my life sorted out. I'm not even as far yet as getting to understand how to look for a job and all of that until after I get everything with my family sorted out." She sighed as she finished off her third glass of water. It was going to be something that she needed to figure out soon, but for the immediate future her focus was on making sure that she kept her family safe.
