"In order to survive the changing world, we must learn to live among humans or risk starving." it wasn't the ideal situation, but the only option to stop the pack and most importantly, their pups from suffering due to a lack of food.
"Humans are weird though. How can you get used to being around them and their confusing nature?" Apryl asked, looking out across the campus. 
"You get used to it after some time, plus it's not like we're the only ones who live among the humans." Keith replied, shrugging as he looked over the campus as well. 
This story follows Apryl Dark, eldest daughter of the Dark Mountain wolf pack as she and her family adjust to living among humans and the trials that face them. 
The book may start out slow, but there will be a mix of both romance and action as the story progresses.

Romance Among Humans

Apryl had ended up falling asleep before Keith replied to her message. In fact, it seemed to have taken him over two hours to get back to her question. Considering how late it was, she couldn't figure out what he was doing that would have distracted him from replying faster.

She didn't dwell on it too much knowing that she find out the answer rather soon. She had gotten most everyone to go ahead with the pictures minus her mother. She would call the detective later to talk with him about that. If it poised a problem, he was just going to have to deal with it for the time being.

Since she didn't have classes that day, the female alpha stayed back with her Aunt to help get breakfast ready so that everyone could eat before she left.
