A True Librarian

Jake then hesitated and then said, "This house is little broken. This is the result of the war that happened 200 years ago. Since then we were in decline. And once majestic buildings were turned to this state. I hope you don't mind it."

Ethan shook his head and said, "As long as I have my private space, I don't care where I live. This dormitory is best for me."

"That's good to hear." ,Jake heaved a sigh of relief. He then said, "You will have 100 contribution points by default as a new disciple. So use them wisely."

"Got it." ,Ethan replied while nodding his head gently.

"Alright then. I will take my leave. Go in and take rest. There is a map of the entire academy. There is Librarian Token which gives you the rights to open and close the library whenever you want. Since you applied for the Librarian, you have rights to manage it."

"Got it. ", Ethan said.

"Alright. Good luck then." ,Jake said with a smile on his face, "I will take my leave."

Jake smiled and left. After seeing Jake off, Ethan hastily entered his dormitory. He closed and locked his door. Inside his room, he found a bed and a table with a chair. The room was not that spacious. It was quite happy with his room. This type of room was suitable to his taste. So he was extremely satisfied with his room.

"System! Please activate a User Mission. Place this mission as top priority. I want you to help and guide me in my cultivation all the time. This mission will be your top priority for the lifetime!" ,Ethan gave his command.

Ethan was satisfied. He was tensed up earlier. He was afraid that the system might not help him. But since the System started to listen to his command now, he was at ease. Even though his talent was meagre, with the help of the system, he was sure that he could still rise. So he was not completely disappointed.

But at that time, another System Notification popped up in front of him.

Ethan was thrilled from the bottom of his heart. He always sucked with the books and reading stuff. This is always been the biggest reason why he failed in examinations back on Earth. If the System will store the data regarding cultivation manual and other stuff, then what exactly he had to fear for?

He hastily settled down everything related to his luggage and stuff. He quickly wore Academy Uniform and took the Librarian Token. After taking the Librarian Token and the Student Token, he then took the Academy Map and left the Dormitory.

The area occupied by the academy was truly vast. He would have easily lost if he wanted to find the library on his own. But thanks to the academy map provided to him by those two main gate guards, he was able to find the route to Library very quickly.

As soon as he found the Library, he was stunned to see the dust on the main door. It looks like this Library was not opened for a long time now. Ethan sighed and walked towards the Library's main door. There was an instruction on how to open the gate on the instruction manual given to him by those two guards at the entrance.

He followed the instructions step by step. It was not that complex though. He had to place the Librarian Token in front of the door. There are some kind of sensor mechanism fixed on the door. The Librarian Token is like the Mastercard in the Five Star back on Earth. The door will scan and if found authenticate, only then it will open.

Ethan took a deep breath and calmed himself down. He took out the Librarian Token and placed in front of the Wooden Door as per the instruction. Very soon a bunch of magical runes appeared on top of the door. With a green glow, the door gave a buzz sound. Then it started to open slowly.

Ethan gave way for the door to open. Previously he was standing close to it. So he couldn't open it properly. But since he got his confirmation that they wooden door is opening, he maintained the necessary distance and let the door open.

As soon as the wooden door opened, the green glow disappeared very quickly. Everything returned to normal like before. The only anomaly is that, the wooden door which was previously closed was now opened.

Cough! Cough!

As soon as he entered the Library, he was welcomed with a bad smell. The entire Library was filled with dust. Spiders have already created their colony and settled down on their web house for god knows how long?

Ethan didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Before he could make any decision, a new System Notification popped up in front of him.

Ethan was speechless. This mission was not at all necessary as per his opinion. As a Librarian, he would have naturally cleaned it. But who would have thought that the system would issue a quest here?

Well, he was jubilated. This quest was easy. Even though it will put some physical pressure since he had a weak body, he will gain some rewards. He had an hunch that that he will gain Attribute Points. Even though the Attribute Points won't be that high, he is still happy as it is just the first day in the cultivation world.

What else? He immediately burrowed a broom from nearby disciples and hurriedly walked into the Library. That disciple gave a confused look. But he didn't care that much as he the brooms were commonly found in the Administration Block.

Time Passed. Ethan worked truly hard with no rest. Library was truly vast. So he took a long time to clean it. Even after five hours, he didn't complete cleaning half of the Library.

He was annoyed. But the first thing he needed to do is to clean the library as soon as possible so that he could receive the reward from the System. Only with the Attribute Points, he could raise his physical attributes like Strength, Stamina etc.

He was actually looking forward to it.
