Derek’s Indirect Message

Fiery Fist is one of the deathly skill which Derek learned. It will allow a user to manipulate their Inner Energy in such a way that the energy particles will be sharpened and they will transform into a sharp blade like weapon. It could be used in a battle and it could also prove to be a deathly blow.

But crippling a cultivator or killing him within the city that is under the Union's administration is punishable offence. If there is any feud between two or more people, then they could go to Union and seek justice. The Union will conduct a trial and investigation will be started. After a thorough investigation, depending on the results of the investigation, the judge from the Union will make his judgement.

This is the general procedure followed by all the cities under Union's administration. Because of this, the crime rate within the city's premises has fallen down. If anyone breaks the rule, then the punishment will be absolutely severe.

But Derek is brave enough to break this rule and he is trying to cripple a cultivator. Or he might even be trying to kill his opponent. How could these people not be stunned?

"I think Derek is trying to send us a message." ,One of the wise spectator thought for a moment and spoke bitterly.

"What do you mean, senior?" ,The person next to him who happens to be his junior brother asked in confusion.

The senior brother smiled bitterly and replied, "Previously when his grandfather used to be the Deputy Elder of the Punishment Department, Derek used to be overbearing as well. But his actions were limited and he would never offend anyone he wished to. Even though his grandfather is the member of the Union, his status was not that big. But now his grandfather is the Chief Elder of the Punishment Department. Derek now has even bigger reason to be arrogant."

The senior took a deep breath and continued, "I think he is trying to tell us that now his grandfather had become the Chief Elder of the Punishment Department, as the grandson of such a person, his status within the city has been raised even further. The level of respect and fear he received must be higher than what he used to receive previously."

That senior looked at Ethan with pity and said, "If anyone disobeys his orders, then he might want to make the example out of this Ethan."

"But killing or crippling someone within the city is punishable offence, right? How could Derek make such a big mistake? After all, his grandfather is not that Patriarch of the branch union! If this issue become serious, then what can his grandfather do to help Derek?" ,The junior ask in confusion.

The senior shook his head and replied, "You can never imagine the politics involved in the Union. Even before this matter goes to the higher level, the Punishment Department might even twist the truth and make this Ethan into a big culprit. They might even open recent unsolved criminal cases and announce this Ethan to be the criminal involved in it. As Derek was the one who solved this case, instead of punishing him, they might even reward him. Anything is possible as long as you are in higher political position."

The junior immediately understood. Not even the junior, even all the spectators who were still in the dark regarding Derek's actions had now understood. They look at Ethan with eyes full of pity.

He was not at all in the wrong, but still had to face heavy consequences. They now understood that if you have power then anything is possible. This is the absolute law of the cultivation world.

As they were discussing among themselves, five minutes have passed. As for what happened during these five minutes, people were watching as well.

Derek rushed forward with this Fiery Fist and attacked Ethan. He intended to punch Ethan's stomach and permanently damage his internal organs and cripple his cultivation. As for Ethan, he didn't move from his place at all. He welcomed Derek's attacks.

Derek felt that this Ethan had lost his mind. He was this close to him and yet this person is not even prepared any counter spell. But just as Derek's Fiery Fist was about to hit Ethan's abdomen and cripple his cultivation, Ethan moved 90 degrees to his left. His body agilely moved swiftly. Even though it was during the last moment that he moved, it was enough due to his high agility.

One had to remember that Ethan asked the system to place strict requirement for him to become a cultivator who could even sweep the heaven. And system placed heavy requirements as it asked Ethan to upgrade his basic attributes to certain level for each minor level advancement.

Compared to him, others never had this privilege. They never had any assistance of the system. So they don't know the level of their basic attributes. The system wanted Ethan to upgrade all his basic attributes along with each minor or major cultivation breakthrough.

There is a reason why system placed such heavy requirements. If Ethan successfully met all the requirements placed by the system, then his future cultivation will be seamless. He will not encounter any bottlenecks during his cultivation journey.

Because of his high agility, he was able to move swiftly 90° to his left. Derek was astonished to find that his punch missed his target. He was an experienced fighter. Even though he was arrogant, he was given high quality training by his grandfather. So he knew if he missed his attack, then that is equal for him to give a chance for opening and his opponent will have the chance to attack him. So in order to avoid that, he immediately rushed back to his pivotal point.

But to his surprise, his opponent didn't attack him. In fact, his opponent placed his hands inside his pockets. He never took his hands out during this period at all.

Derek fell in pondering. But he was more used to be hotblooded person. Calm and rational thinking was not his style. In his view, no one will dare to go against him as he is the grandson of the Chief Elder Johnson. That was the source of his confidence.

He felt that Ethan got away luckily. So he rushed towards him once again. He gave a punch to his abdomen. But the same result repeated. Ethan once again moved 90° to his left. And the attack missed once again.

Derek learned from his previous experience. So as soon as the punch missed, he punched at Ethan's back exactly where his kidney was with his left hand.

Just as his punch was about to meet Ethan's back, Ethan swiftly and quickly moved back. The speed at which he moved was pretty amazing.

Not just Derek, even the spectators were surprised.
