A Pair Of Eyes

"Chase him!!!"

"Don't lose your sight on him!!"

"But don't you think this person's feet movements are a little too fast?"

Derek's people were chasing after Ethan. At the beginning everything looked good. But after a little while, things started to change. They felt that they will catch up to him in no time. They remained calm. After all, their mission is not to lose their sight on Ethan.

But Ethan was running around the city. He was just running aimlessly. Sometimes, he would run towards west; sometimes he will run east. Sometimes north, sometimes south.

The people chasing after Ethan were scratching their heads in order to understand what exactly this Ethan is trying to accomplish. But they couldn't find any answer. But they knew for sure that this Ethan wants to lose their tail. So they were trying their beat to keep up with them.

It is a common sense that after running for a while, people will be tired and their speed will start to drop. They didn't realise it at the beginning, but after a while, they started to notice that the distance between them and Ethan was actually widening.

"Damn it! Just how much stamina he has to maintain that pace?" ,One of the pursuers asked in frustration.

"Don't lose him! Or else, we will die in the hands of Young Master Sirius!" ,Another person said who shared the same frustration as the others.

But as time passed, they found that the distance between them and Ethan was not at all shrinking. In fact, it is kept on growing. They didn't know what to do. They were trying their best. Even though they were cultivators and possessed high stamina and energy compared to normal people, their stamina and energy also has a certain limit. The only difference id compared to an ordinary mortal, their energy and stamina would he countless times higher.

They were well trained and experienced soldiers under Young Master Sirius' command. And yet, they were being toyed around by someone else. They have been running like this for three hours straight. Their situation was not at all looking good. But as for Ethan, they could find no signs of exhaustion. He maintained the same pace.

But what they didn't know is that, because of the System, all Ethan's basic attributes have been upgraded constantly. For all the people who has cultivation base as same as him, his basic attributes were on a different league. And these people's cultivation base was as same as Ethan's. So they were completely not his match.

When Ethan found that these people were completely exhausted and were finding it problematic to keep up with him, Ethan smiled inwardly. He then immediately increased his pace to maximum. His strength, stamina and agility were working on it's top limit.

With a small explosive sound, Ethan was nowhere to be seen. His explosive speed made his pursuers speechless. Their mind went blank. They stared stupidly as Ethan escaped from their sight. They all looked at each other only to find the same shock and disbelief expression on their faces.

Nobody knows where Ethan went. Everyone from Young Master Sirius' assigned tail enders were looking for him throughout the city frenziedly. But no one knows that Ethan was not even in the city. Currently, he needed to solve his hunger crisis. So he was about to enter a place where people will least bother to search him at.

Blissful Village!

Ethan set his foot in the Blissful Village. Blissful Village was located south to the Phoenix Feather City. The speciality about this village is that, it is the land of Mortals. It is the village where exists no cultivators. It is peaceful place where no cultivators would like to waste their time in setting foot.

It is an ironic fact where a village exists in between the world of cultivators. And the strangest thing is that it still exists in the cruel cultivation world without being destroyed.

Ethan didn't know any of this. He just wanted to escape from those pursuers. He wanted nothing more. His arrival at this Blissful Village was sheer coincidence.

At this time, Ethan entered the outskirts of the Blissful Village. He looked around in confusion. He didn't know anything about this village. He just wanted to escape from those pursuers. And he unexpectedly arrived here.

Ethan was truly shocked about his finding of the Blissful Village. How could a Mortal Village still exists in the world of cultivators? He couldn't understand. This remained a mystery to him.

With these questions in his mind, Ethan entered the main entrance to the city. As soon as he set his foot in the Blissful Village, his vision suddenly changed. An unknown pressure fell on him. Ethan couldn't move his body at all under this pressure.

His vision changed. At the beginning, all he saw was old and broken houses. But now under this changed vision, what he saw truly shocked him. What he saw was a majestic fallen buildings. These buildings were bathing in the sea of blood. The blood actually belongs to more than million powerful cultivators.

The sky was blood red in colour. Neither sun nor moon could be found on this bloodied sky. Instead Ethan could find a pair of eyes looking down. Ethan found that this pair of eyes was the origin of the immense pressure he was feeling right now.

That eye was not ordinary at all. It's eyeball was made of an entire galaxy. It was as if nothing in the galaxy could escape it's mighty eyes.

Then the direction of those eyes changed. It shifted to Ethan's direction. As soon as the pair of eyes locked at him, the pressure on Ethan intensified. He felt as if his spirit was under huge attack and might be shattered into pieces.

"AAAARGHHHH!!!"

Ethan gave a loud shout full if pain. His eyes, nose and mouth started to show traces of blood. He felt as if his soul was being chopped by this immense pressure.

Ethan's eyes started to lose it's control. He had urge to give up and surrender under this pressure. Even though he wanted to be like those formidable MCs from the Chinese novels who endures this kind of situation with sheer willpower, willpower was the biggest thing Ethan didn't possess.

"Is this the place where my journey will end!" ,He thought unwillingly.

Ethan finally fell on the ground. He no longer had any courage to fight that frightening pressure. His vision darkened as he fell on the ground. Before Ethan lost his consciousness, he was was sure in his heart that he will no longer wake up. He will fall into eternal sleep.
