Chapter 21

Diana's P. O. V

I had the glass of water in my hand, my grip on it tightened from nervousness, I can't imagine how I got into this mess.

"Are you okay?"Lola asked and started rubbing my back, I averted my eyes away from the sharp piercing gaze of Mr Tyler, .... Xander .... Michael's father.

"Sorry sir"I managed to say and stood up from the dining room.

"I think I'll walk you home now"Pablo said and held my hand. I suddenly tensed up at that, it was so quick and sudden. I was really feeling sick in the stomach, it was all just too much for me to handle.

"Thank you Lola for the dinner, goodbye sir"I said and he pulled me out of the room. As soon as we were away from them a cloud of relief hovered over me.

"Am sorry senorita, I had no clue Michael's father would be here"Pablo said.

"It's okay, but...what are we going to do now about the video all over school?"

Michael's P. O. V

"You want me to what!"

Diana and Pablo sat across me both holding hands, her head on his shoulder. Did this scene bother me? Yes it did.

"I...we...need to let the whole school know that you two are still dating"Pablo said.

"Why don't you two just come out or something?"I asked, I was getting annoyed with all the pretence actually, it was funny before but now, not so much.

"It would ruin Mi Amor, I can't have people saying trash about her"Pablo said and tightened his grip on her hand. I clenched my jaw. She just had to look ten times fucking prettier this morning.

"Fine"

Why do I want to do this? It'll hurt everyone but me. "Thank you"Pablo said and planted a kiss on her forehead. I bit my cheek and got up, "where are you going?"He asked, I actually wished Diana would speak up rather than just cuddle him here. They were lucky I secured the area, no one uses this classroom anymore, so they could have all the intimacy they wanted.

"I have stuff to do"I said referring to the work Josie had assigned me to do in the library.

"But once you're free let's talk more about how we're going to sort all this out"Pablo said.

I sighed, "yeah sure"I said, I glanced at Diana, she didn't say a word, nothing at all, she just held unto him. This didn't seem like her, she was the outspoken type of girl.

I gathered my things and left to the library.

*School closes*

"You can tell everyone to leave the library now" the librarian said. "sure"I said and placed the book in my hand on the shelf. I used my eyes to make sure they were all arranged and none on that shelf was missing. But I noticed someone took out a book, Wuthering Heights.

I groaned.

The library was huge, I'd have to go from table to table finding this particular book.

"Catherine....Cathy....ugh! Why give your daughter the same name!"I heard a voice all too familiar say. I stopped to listen to that lovely voice for a little while longer.

"What kind of story is this! What kind of name is Hea...Heathcliff?"

She asked in frustration. "I need to go teach these old timers a thing or two about writing"she said.

"And what exactly would you teach them?"I asked coming out of my hiding place.

Diana's P. O. V

According to Michael's study schedule I had to study literature today and there's nothing more annoying than eighteenth century literature. Or was it nineteenth century?

I tried to read through it, but the words just pushed me away, I couldn't get to understand what the story was even trying to say.

I was about to toss the book away till a voice snapped me back into reality. I sharply turned my head to see Michael standing close to a shelf wearing his smirk. The one thing popped into my head. He really is his father's son. I fell out of my chair and landed hard on the ground.

Thankfully school was over. No one to share in my embarrassment.

"You can't help falling for me now can you?"he asked a cocky grin spread across his face. My cheeks heated up at that remark, I stood up and dusted my skirt.

"You wish"I said, guilt was still eating me up inside, I felt bad for some reason like lying to Michael was wrong or something.

He took a seat and picked up the book on the table, he held it upside down and started reading. I rolled my eyes at him and sat down beside him.

"It's upside down"I said and corrected it, "I knew that"he said jovially, I know he didn't though am not sure Jocks know anything about literature.

"You really are a weirdo coming to the library when no one's around to read...what is this? Wu...Wu....sounds Chinese"he said. Trying to say the title of the book right.

"Wuthering Heights"I said crudely and took the book out of his grip,"this really isn't your MO, just go do whatever you do when school's over"I said.

"Am supposed to be sucking the life out of my girlfriend's face, but since she's taken..."

"Like you would ever kiss me"I quickly cut him off, we both fell silent, I bit my cheek and looked away, things turned awkward.

"Where is your boyfriend?"he asked killing the awkward silence.

"I dunno"I said, "you don't know? What sort of girlfriend doesn't keep track of her boyfriend like a secret spy? All girls do it"he said. Rude!

"Not this girl, I rather try and wrap my head around Cathrine and her gothic relationship"I confessed, am not really one to enjoy literature.

"Gimme let me take a look"he said and stretched his hand out to take the book from me. "I don't want your brain to fry trying"I teased.

"We both know whose the pee brain between us both"he said in his defense. I fell silent, I wanted to say something sarcastic or of the sort, but nothing came to my mind. Michael was smarter, richer, more popular, he was everything better than me.

"Diana I was out of line..."

"No, it's fine Josie wouldn't want me having a tutor if I didn't need it"I admitted. Admitting to Michael was not my favorite thing to do, I loathed it even.

"It's funny how the books starts with the name Cathrine Earnshaw and ends with Cathrine Earnshaw"He said.

I raised a brow at him, hinting him to go on, I knew I saw something like that but was too confused to bother.

"Cathrine Earnshaw marries Edgar Linton and have Catherine Linton. Catherine Linton then ends up with Hareton Earnshaw at the end"he said.

Why do I suddenly feel smaller? A jock who skipped classes knew more on a book I read in class for forty minutes straight. How ironic.

"You mean she married her cousin?"I asked.

"Yeah, pretty much. It was in the olden days when men rode horses, women wore huge umbrella hats and people could fuck whomever the fuck they wanted to fuck"he said. I chuckled at his detailed thought of the eighteenth century, or was it the nineteenth?

"Would you marry your cousin?"I found myself asking, "ewwee!"

"You sure are curious about who I fuck, care to explain?"He asked lightly and placed his legs on the table.

"I. Am. Not. "I said, my ears red, he pinched my left ear, and I felt something warm course through my body.

"Come on! I see you checking me out when am on the field"he said, "you are a perverted young lady"he said. I slapped his hand, his muscular hand.

"I don't do that!"I said, "yeah right, the same way you don't fantasize about me and write about me in your diary"he added.

"Dear diary Michael tots waved at me today! We're like star crossed and like mtb"he said with a high school female teen voice impression.

I fought him while laughing at him, "what the hell does mtb even mean?!"I asked while attacking him with the book. Not caring if I damaged a library book.

"Mtb...meant to be"he said and I face palmed.

"Yeah right, don't you forget mister that I have a boyfriend"I said trying to win the argument. But his countenance fell all of a sudden, he took his feet off the table and grabbed the book from me.

"The library is closed the librarian doesn't want anyone here past three thirty"he said and left without even looking back to look at me or even say a goodbye.
