Chapter 11

Pacing back and forth in her room, she thought deeply about today's events. She came back, but what was she supposed to do next?

She fell on the bed with a sigh.

If she remembers clearly, her family members are going to die one by one in the upcoming five or six years. Starting with her aunt, until only she and her younger half brother, Laurent, remained.

She wasn't sure how each of her family members met their end exactly, not until she read the novel. What's more shocking, her half brother had a hand in destroying the imperial family.

In the novel he was a devoted follower to Victoria, but what she didn't understand, was why he helped an outsider murder his own blood. If memory serves, he would be entering the imperial palace in a few weeks time.

Though his appearance in the novel would be earlier. Right about... Now!

Victoria also 'transmigrated' in this specific day!

26th of October, 858!

Amourora jumped out of bed and started pacing faster. She doesn't have much time!

'Okay, calm down and take a deep breath' she closed her eyes counted to ten.

How did the novel start?

A girl, two girls, both named Victoria, died by drowning at the same time. The one from the modern world, transmigrated into the body of an eight year old. As the soul entered into the new world, a golden light fell from the sky guiding the soul into the new body.

A little boy, which had recently lost his mother and taken in by that girl, stumbled upon it and successfully rescued the girl.

The next day, that girl woke up as an entirely different person. She slowly took revenge on those who bullied her and drowned her in the lake. She was also poisoned to have an ugly appearance, but her father got a genius in the medical field to examine her and cure her later on.

But if the female lead transmigrated only now...

Amourora ran to her balcony.

Just as she had suspected, a calm starry night. The calm before the storm. In a matter of minutes, the sky would fill with thunder and lightning and heavy black clouds would gather. Then...it will happen.

She just has to wait to confirm her thoughts.

"your highness, I brought over some snacks." a young girl knocked the door.

"your highness?" she hesitantly entered the humongous chamber decorated with the most beautiful and luxurious items, followed by two identical girls carrying a tray of milk and pastries.

"your highness?" The second girl's voice echoed in the room.

Suddenly strong wind threw the balcony door open and blew out the candles in the room.

Boom!

"aaah! " the three girls jumped out of fright and hugged each other.

"where's her highness?" one of them, perhaps the only one with the courage to spit out a word, asked.

All three turned to the swinging door and gasped in horror. In an instant, the three raced across the room and out on the balcony.

"your highness!"

The three girls blinked at the sight of the princess standing at the far left of the balcony, her frail and skinny body shaking with the wind as if it could blow her away at any moment. The skirt of her baby blue night gown and her freely flowing dark hair flapping left and right with the fierce wind.

"your highness!" Luna called out, blocking the blowing wind with her arm. "you must get inside, it's dangerous out here.

The princess, however, didn't move but stood on her toes, staring intensely at the distance. Both confused and anxious, Luan tugged her wrist, and followed her line of sight.

Why is she lo—!

At that moment a blinding golden light struck in the distance, disappearing as soon as it appeared, if one wasn't looking closely, one would easily mistake it for lighting, missing it's peculiar color.

Only short moments passed by and the skies immediately cleared and the night turned to being tranquil and silent, as if all that happened earlier was a mere illusion.

"did...you see that?" Amourora asked for confirmation.

"saw what?" Luan wasn't sure of what her own eyes witnessed, but she didn't want to worry her master. "perhaps... it was an illusion?"

"your highness, I believe you are too sleepy," Lina put a fur cape around her neck and said, "let's go inside."
