C 54. Presence, Will, Aura!

"What about the term Presence?" I asked. 

I might be a girl and a good looking one that loves fashion, but it doesn't change my inherent nature. 

I'm more of a Warrior Princess that despises politics and loves the simplicity of things.

His earlier explanation is just him flexing his authority and making me view him as the only superior, and no one else.

He doesn't know, but to me, it makes no difference. I will do my job to the best of my capability.

"Presence is a complicated subject, some view it to be Will, some call it Aura. 

But those that dedicated themselves to it research such as me have our theory.

Presence, Will, and Aura are three different things but they are so similar that only those in their field of study care to differentiate.

Can you remember what you felt from Dr Khan subject?"

"The one that is most notable is when I felt myself drowning in a thick liquid with an ominous feeling, it was then that his hair turned grey!" 

I can still feel myself tremble from it.

"That is Presence. At a normal glance, it can be explained through scientific means. Just like fire, the moment you remember it you know it's hot and can burn.

Fire exerts and announces its Presence through emission of heat, and it's characterised by it.

The same way, our body exerts its Presence in our surroundings but a different frequency and energy."

He takes time to mull over his thoughts before he continues, "When I was a child I had two older twin brothers and they have abilities.

One can solidify his right arm while the other one can solidify his right leg. Now, to me they are basic, but back then they were hell to me.

I was always the source of their bully, but it was when I was 18 that I realized one thing, they have never beaten me before. 

Their presence alone coupled with their shout of orders that they always bark at me makes me fear them. Since I was basically like a slave to them.

That is what induced fear in me. After they were sent to college far away from home, changes started happening to me. 

My muscle density increases, my immune system improves, as well as my stamina become insane, way above normal humans.

At school to elevate my bad mood I became a bully too, but the school has gangsters and bad eggs. Unfortunately, I'm more of a Solo king.

And for that, I was gang up and beaten up all the time, but none of that ever put me into hospital. 

My aunt, who was a nurse and knew some of the secrets of my brothers, suspects I have ability too.

But later it was proven I have zero ability, she was the one that came up with the theory of aura to me.

And that happened when in the morning I freaked out saying I feel something bad is coming, an hour later one of my brothers was back.

She suspected that I was able to feel his aura kilometres ahead.

From then I began searching about aura and its intricacies, and what I found is outstanding.

Now, let's get back to how Presence works scientifically."

"You want some water?" He asked. I shook my head, a bottle of cold water floated to him without the need of a glass cup, he drank it down.

"Cells, each cell in our body, on its own can survive to a certain extent in a favourable condition. 

We will come to that, the activities that each cell carries out at all times make it emit energy, no matter how small that energy is it's the way for that cell to announce its Presence.

The human body consists of billions of cells and each carries activities to sustain its life, those activities collectively give Presence to the humans.

Presence becomes prominent on Superhuman because they are a bit higher life form than others. 

Like you now, you have Super Strength which results in you having a massive amount of Presence because your cells are stronger and have more vitality than someone who is not a strength-based Superhuman.

Another aspect is that experience in life increases one's presence. Like me, I have trained hard under the pressure of others and I developed something called tangible Will.

Will or Willpower can become tangible through various means but the fastest is experiences of different events.

It helped break one limit and reach another height that normal humans can't. For example, a bullet to the heart will never be a threat to me, the Will imbued in my cells are strong enough to survive and heal from almost all wound.

As for aura….."

Damn, it's a long lecture, I don't want to call it boring but after a long explanation, I realized that I am not understanding half of what he is saying.

He always brought some scientific data that is not relevant to my understanding, but I know it was for my own good, as Presence, Will and Aura are the forts of Enhancers like me.

I don't have the fancy power of Flight, Teleportation, or the mysterious power of Shadow, Precognition, or Dream control. 

What I have is unblemished brute Physical Power and by all means, if faced against those people with Supernatural like powers, I might be powerless.

Just like the little devil entering through the walls, my punches might not land on her but may pass through her.

But I saw her being yanked back out when that aura permeated the room. As if she couldn't use her power to hide when that Presence was around.

And to all my understanding, this long boring lecture is telling me indirectly that the only way to land some fist on some of these crazy people, whose existence alone is a cheat, is through the use of either Aura, Presence, or Will.

But it's too complicated for my little brain to understand. I guess I have to direct my enhancement to my head to slow down his conversation and to process what he had said in the fastest way I can muster.
