Biologically Designed Mate

"As far as I know, yes," Mother confirmed.  "He lives somewhere within the bowels of this place."

Her eyes were enigmatic.  "I come here to check on him often, without his knowledge."

Her voice dropped to barely a whisper.  "I make sure the staff members take care of his needs and makes sure he is healthy and happy as he tinkers and does whatever it is that he is obsessed with."

There was something strange about the way she talked about him.  I could not quite put my finger on it though.

"I've never heard Gabriel mention him even once."

Mother shrugged.  "That's not surprising.  They are separated by a couple of decades so it would not be unusual for them to have little connection with each other."

I nodded with understanding.  It was the same between me and my five older brothers who were much older than I was.  I barely recognized them, the few times I'd seen them come to the house.
