Frightened Boy

"Are you serious?"  I gasped.  "There are some places in The Wastes where the asphalt has completely eroded away and there's nothing but dirt paths with deep ruts.  How is this behemoth going to get us across without breaking an axle?"

"No need to bother your pretty little head with those kinds of details," Grandpa patted my head.

"I am leaving it all in the hands of our very capable Monsieur Louis Palais," he indicated with a flair of his hand.

Louis Palais inclined his head with a slight smile.

"Please allow me to handle all the details.  I only wish for your comfort on the journey.  We also have an ailing passenger, so there had to be a way to transport him safely."

Connor.

I threw my arms around Grandpa.  "Thank you.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Grandpa!"

He nodded and returned my hug.
