Ambush

Ms Sina dragged Joey all the way back to the truck and drove off. She was surprisingly calm.

Joey imagined she would be burning with rage but quite to the contrary, she never spoke. Not even once.

They just started their Journey and the silence was killing Joey.

He felt he needed to apologize, he didn't want Sina to go off on a tangent. Before Joey could say Sina finally spoke.

"Sigh, I never thought I would have to tell you not to drink the goddamn blood" Sina squeezed her nose bridge, she shook her head in disappointment.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for all that to happen. It was an Accident"

"Sure let's go with that" she stopped talking and shook her head then said. "Here is 1200 from the money for the work you did today."

Sina handed over the money and Joey accepted it and thanked her.

When they were back at the shop Sina parked the truck, He put his staff on his back, and parted ways.

Joey was about finished for the day his phone vibrated. He was startled because he forgot that he had such a thing on him.

[Stepheson: Your sister is awake... Finish our agreement then you can come to get her afterwards. All the things you will need were left at the Martial Center. You don't have a choice, make sure you finish it. Do not reply to this message.]

Joey gripped the phone out of anger but stopped before he destroyed it then sighed. " I just need to kill them, they have to be a bad person… It's either them or my sister," Joey said. He was trying to condition himself in the event that the person he had to kill was someone nice, or innocent.

Strangely enough, He got no picture or information like he was supposed to, no habits or weaknesses. "Maybe I will get them later," he thought.

Joey was thinking about what he should do next. He planned to save the money for his sister's medications and hopefully a place to stay.

He never wanted her to be like him and slept around everywhere.

The time was about 6:44, the sky had a bright orange hue that glowed on the ground. It was the best time to relax.

He was in an alley planning his next move.

After he finished his deal with Stephen all that was left was to win the Sky tournament or get chosen as someone's disciple and he was confident in his ability.

Sadly Joey wouldn't have that luxury. Several shadows flashed down the alley, arriving in front of him.

They surrounded him leaving no angles to escape. Behind him, a hoarse voice spoke, "Hey kid, Come here for a second.

If you listen to us carefully then we will let you keep your life".

Joey looked behind him and saw some people with guns and weapons.

Normal guns were not used anymore. Almost all guns were loaded with cold steel bullets.

These guns were complimented by long barrels and he stacked clips; which blows through flesh.

Normal guns wouldn't pierce people because regular guns are ineffective on someone who has superpowers.

If you want something done.

The best thing was to do it yourself and that would be using a weapon with your bare hands.

There were a lot of incalculable variables of a bullet travelling to someone like snipers and wind and Glock .40 and walls.

Then there was the chance of someone not dying after you shoot them.

Gun production halted for decades but was brought back after they managed to make cold steel bullets.

This was the main source of income for Underworld Syndicates

Martial Arts were inferior to weapons and still are, but through time, Martial Arts made to develop movement killing potential and stronger bodies.

This is also why melee weapons were mass-produced as well.

It was an era built off of "If you want something done do it yourself".

Around Joey, there were 5 of them and they all had something covering their faces. Joey could see some distinctive features like scars over their eyes.

"Kid, we were sent here to kill you. I doubt the boss would care if we left you alive, so just give us the Axe handle and we will leave you".

The man in the front was tall and had a lot of muscle.

His tone sounded like he was trying to do what was best for Joey but it was more of an order.

"What's wrong boss?"

"That's not for a deadman to know" The burly man scoffed. "Fine" Joey was about to raise his hand when the man shouted, "Stop, don't move!".

Click! Click! Click!

All the guns pointed at Joey brain, he stopped his movement then the leader spoke again "Move and you die! You think I wouldn't dare kill you!".

The man shouted. It seemed like that's all he could do, he had his hand up like he was about to order them to fire.

"Move and I will blow you fucking brains out!" he shouted and had a spear in his hand that was cracking the ground. "I was going to give you the handle.

I need to take it off to give you, don't I?" He smiled as he raised his hand innocently.

"Don't goddamn move or you're done?" the man said in a deadpan tone. "You're the boss, I don't fancy dying a virgin.

I am truly grateful to the boss for sparing my life" Joey said sympathetically toward the leader.

Jreken was the leader of the group that was sent by Grisilia Henshaw. "Young Miss ordered me to take him and sell him off. I thought that his mission would have been harder but this guy is a fool!" Jreken thought.

"You go and take away his weapon" Jreken pointed to one of his men to go and confiscate the weapon. The man held his gun and walked up to the go and take away the handle.
