A Naïve Genius

"God, you scared me. What are you doing standing in the dark?" Brina said, clutching her chest. She didn't notice her sisters narrowing their eyes at her.

Bell and Brylee stepped out of the dark closer to Brina.

"Didn't I tell you to stay away from that fucker," Bell said in a displeased tone.

Brina's eyes went wide. "Bell, language, please," She said in a hushed tone, afraid that she might wake their parents. She sighed and then said, "I am not the one coming to him, he just came. I cannot just tell him to go away," She said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Of course, you can!" Bell hissed.

"Bell, Brina doesn't have the heart to do that especially when Luc just came to bring her food," Brylee said, rolling her eyes.

Brina was astonished. "How long have you been home?" She asked because she was certain that they were not home yet when she arrived. And if they knew that Luc brought her food then that means they've been home long enough.
