Blake hugged Brielle. "Seriously, thank you. Without your kindness, we would've had to move again."
Brielle gave him a half-hug, then pulled out her phone. She showed Blake the screen. "This is your documentation. I am going to pick up the physical copies when I get back from my mission. If you need anything, and I'm not here, you can go to Tina. She is in room 1024, don't be a stranger. Alice, you are going to sleep. Do you mind if I introduce Blake to Tina?"
"Go ahead. I will be out in a moment. Blake, come back once you have eaten something. I know that you did not get to eat a lot." Alice smiled, closed her eyes, and her breathing evened out immediately.
"I will come to join you since Alice said that I could. Is it strange that I only want her?" Blake picked up his wallet and slid it into his back pocket.
"Not at all. I hear that when a vampire finds their pair, they are drawn to each other." Brielle tapped her card in the elevator and pressed floor ten. "I don't have all the knowledge, but from what I do know, it is completely normal to be drawn to that person only. I think that each species should find the one person that makes them happy. Do you agree?"
Blake let out a sigh and nodded his head. "I totally agree. I like that a lot and wish more people were like you in that case. If you support my love, then I will not complain. Although I hope that Tina does not fall for me, as I will not be able to reciprocate."
"Don't worry about that; she already has a crush on the board member's son and maybe the boy that Alice will be helping." Brielle patted the box in her hands. "Do you know if she will want this back?" she points to the box.
Blake thought for a moment. "That is not something that I am sure about, but she picked it up yesterday and cut herself to fill the vials, so I think it was your money that she used in the first place. It was an interesting experience."
"Did you try a bit of her blood? Brielle looked down at him and watched as he blushed. "I am curious what it tastes like. If it is too personal, you don't have to tell me." She sipped on her coffee.
Thinking for a moment, he sighed, and the doors opened, "I don't think that it was personal since all I was doing was licking what leaked after the wound healed. It was sweet, to my surprise. When you think about blood, you would think that it is metallic tasting, but it was sweet. I will only take what Alice offers me. She has refused to drink from me. I am still "too young" at this time." He uses his fingers to make quotations in the air when he says too young.
"I can understand what she wants to wait. She wants you to look around her age, so people don't think that she is your mother instead of her partner. Is that what you want?" Brielle stopped down the hall and looked at Blake.
"No, that is definitely not what I want. I understand it better now, but it does not mean that I have to like it, do I?" Blake looked up at Brielle, challenging her.
Brielle pats him on the shoulder. "Don't worry too much. She will not go for anyone else. She loves you very much. That is why she keeps doing everything in her power to keep you safe and healthy. Come on, no more of this talk. Let's go get some breakfast." She walks up to Jenna's place, knocks, then opens the door. "I'm here."
Jenna pops her head around the corner then claps happily. "Good morning, oh! Hello." She comes around the corner and grins ear to ear. "I'm Tina; who are you?" she held out her hand.
"Is Lucas here yet?" Brielle looked around the corner, and the door closed behind her. Once she saw that he was not in the room, she let out a sigh. "Jenna, this is Blake, mate to the vampire in the unit I bought. I thought that since you will be entering school together, it would be good for you to get to know him. He and Alice know my real name. You don't mind one more mouth to feed, do you?"
"Nice to meet you, Blake! Not at all. My real name is Jenna, but at school, I will be called Tina as well as at the apartment. It is great to have another friendly face to go to school with." Jenna smiled happily. "There's fresh coffee in the fancy coffeepot on the counter."
Blake shook Jenna's hand. "It is great to meet you, and sorry for coming over unannounced." He took his hand back, followed Brielle and sat at the kitchen table.
Jenna went back to cooking, and she flipped the pancake over in the pan and started humming happily. She picked up a remote and hit play, and some gentle music started playing. "I have been working hard since I woke up, and I am glad that I can listen to music. I didn't want to disturb the neighbours, so I was wearing headphones." Expertly, she flips the pancake onto a plate and starts to cook more. "Here, Blake, you can have this one and help yourself to any of the toppings on the table."
Blake took the plate and did as she suggested. He added all sorts of fruit and some whipped cream. As he took a bite of the pancakes and moaned. "Oh my god. This is heavenly. Thank you so much!"
Brielle filled her coffee mug, sat down at the table, and watched Jenna happily cook. "I'm glad that you like everything that you got the other day." She took a sip and hummed, "excellent job on the coffee. Fuck we need one of the pots in the office. Remind me when I am on the job tomorrow that I should get one for the office. I guess a water kettle as well."
"You bet! I will send you a text in the morning tomorrow. Maybe you will have time before the shift to pick it up." Jenna placed a plate with more pancakes on the table, then added another with bacon and breakfast sausages. Then finally some scrambled eggs.
"Thanks, I appreciate it. Now, Blake and Jenna, I have filled out all your school forms, and you both have the same last name. You two look like you could be siblings. So I am entering you as twins." Brielle lifted a pancake onto her plate. She then added whipped cream and strawberries.
"Oh, how exciting! I don't mind. How about you, Blake?" Jenna finished cooking and turned the stove and oven off. She grabbed two orange juices and handed one to Blake, then sat down.
"I always wondered what it would be like if I had a sibling that lived. Do you mind if I am the older twin? I always wanted a younger sibling." Blake took the orange juice and drank some right away.
"I do not mind, Older Brother. You're older than me by thirty minutes. I think that is reasonable. Our mother died birthing us, and we were separated at birth. We just discovered that we were twins when we met this morning. This will cover any misconceptions with what was said yesterday." Jenna smiled and started to grab a little of everything.
"That works for me. I will make sure that I hear the whole story from you two later so that I am on the same page. I'm going to head to the hospital after I am done here, then I will be heading to my assignment. Don't cringe Blake, I shouldn't have to kill, but I will be going to the night mall. I will be watching things and breaking up conflicts." Brielle finished the meal and finished off her coffee in the mug. "Jenna, I will leave this mug here at your place. That way, I do not need to bring one down each time. I will be back Sunday night, and I will take you both to the school. Any objections?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to cringe. It is just that I know what you do for a living. Be safe out there, and I will help Jenna out getting the place ready." Offering a smile to Brielle and Jenna, Blake goes back to eating.
"Yes, by all means, leave it here. I will wash it, and it will be here when you need it. Blake, I am also a hunter, but I am only a trainee, so I have not killed anyone, but I am trained, so if you have any issues while Brielle isn't here, let me know, and I will inform Brielle." Jenna smiled then continued eating.
Brielle picked up her bag, then nodded her head. "Jenna is my trainee. I will not subject her to anything that she does not want. I am off. You two behave and show Blake the pool downstairs. Furthermore, I will book that for a reunion party when I get back." She took off and called a cab, and took the elevator down. By the time she reached the ground floor, the cab was waiting for her.
