35 Wine and Dine

Brielle got into the tub and relaxed against the jets that were pressing upon her back. She let out a sigh of contentment. "Heavenly, that is what this feels like. I hope that the vampire will be ready for me tomorrow. If I see him, I will have to devise a plan to get rid of his mark… Oh, I know what to do now!" Giggling to herself, Brielle picked up the glass that was near the tub and drank a little of the smooth red wine. After she enjoyed the bath until she got up and wore a robe. She stepped out and looked at the mark. "Before you attach yourself, I am just going to get dressed.

The mark had flown to her side and blushed, then went back to the laptop.

"You are so much more reasonable than your maker." Brielle went to the bedroom and got dressed, then stepped out and went to her laptop. "I do not know if you will be comfortable sleeping on my hand but feel free to sleep on the spare pillow." Brielle watched as the mark landed on her hand, blushing.

The bat seemed to nod at the girl and was still blushing a little.

"Seriously, you are so adorable. What will your Master think about you listening to me and not him?" Brielle sat on the couch and started typing the reports on the laptop and sending them off rather than seeing the individuals in person. She focuses so hard that she ignores the grumbling in her stomach.

The bat looked at Brielle, then flew to the kitchen and tried to pick up an apple and bring it to Brielle, but roughly halfway there, the apple fell, smashing on the ground. The bat landed on the ground beside the apple with tears in its eyes.

'It is bad enough that my mark is listening to that hunter, but now it is sad over her.' He picked up his phone and called the restaurant in the hotel. "This is the penthouse. I would like a blue rare steak delivered to my suite and a second medium-rare steak sent to the hunter's suite or if you know how she likes her steak, send it to her."

"Right away, Mr. …." as the male was replying, he heard the phone click. He was already at the computer entering in the orders to be delivered to the suites.

Brielle jumped at the sound, placed her hand on her scythe and walked and found the bat crying beside an apple. "Oh, you do not need to cry over an apple. It is not a big deal. Thank you for worrying about me." she picked the bat up, and it was starting to look more like a bat. "How about I give you a name?"

The bat hops on her hand and nuzzles her finger while making an excited screech.

"I do not know if you are a girl or boy, but Evaki is beautiful. What do you think?" Brielle ignores the apple, carries the bat to her room, and closes the blinds making the room pitch black.

Evaki jumps up, flying around Brielle happily. Watching as she closed the curtains landing on the pole that went across the bedposts hanging upside down.

"I am glad that you like the name I chose, Evaki. It is believed that a goddess of the night was responsible for shutting the sun out of the sky and bringing the moon out. She was also said to sometimes to be represented as a bat." Brielle smiled at Evaki, who was hanging watching her. "I wish I could communicate with you, but this is okay as well. Now I will not be alone."

There was a knock at the door, and Brielle carried her scythe to the door. Through the door, the gentleman knocked on the door again. "Sorry to disturb you, but I have room service for you. It was ordered by another guest. If you don't believe me, then I can walk away from the cart."

Brielle sighed while opening the door, smelling the steak. Her mouth started to water a little. "Let me guess it was from that Vampire in the other penthouse suite?" Brielle crossed her arms and stared at the worker.

"Y-yes," he managed to squeak out.

"Bring it in, and since it is on him, do you have the forty-year aged red wine from Taylor Fladegate?" Stepping aside, Brielle looked at the room where the bat was now hiding since the living room was starting to light up.

He looked at the hunter and smiled as he pushed the cart into the room. "We do! Would you like me to bring you a bottle?" He pushed the cart to the table and placed the food on the tabletop waiting for her reply.

"Send me a dozen bottles all on the vampire's dime. Then send him the thirteenth bottle." She looked at the dome and smiled. "Oh, and some apple crisp for dessert for both of us with vanilla ice cream." Brielle pulled out a fifty-dollar bill. "If he refuses to pay, then I, of course, will cover the costs." She picked up the wine she poured earlier, took a sip, watched the worker leave the room. She took the empty glass and tossed it at the wall. 'This is your game; let's see how this will work for you.'

Brielle walks over to the broken glass, cleans it up. While cleaning up, she cuts her finger, goes to the bedroom and holds her finger to the bat. "I know that you can drink human blood. Let's give your Master a taste to drive him insane."

Evaki looks at Brielle, sees the cut and flies from the perch and lands on her palm. Evaki examines the wound before licking the blood off to heal the wound and looks back up at Brielle.

Ketan was smirking and eating his steak when he tasted Brielle's blood through the mark, and he dropped the knife. Grabbing his chest, he starts to fight the urge to go to her. He stumbles to the fridge, knocking decorative bowls off the counter, pulls out a vial. He pops the cap, downs it all in one shot, and the urge to drink disappears as he starts to feel lightheaded. When he hears the knock at the door, he accepts the wine, signs the receipt, takes the apple crumble and places it on the table.

Stumbling to the kitchen, he goes to grab the corkscrew, but as he sees two bottles, so he stops and mutters a spell getting the cork out. Ketan picks up the bottle and chugs it all until the last drop while stumbling to the bed. He drops the bottle before collapsing on top of the mattress.

Brielle went to the door and opened it after the worker knocked on the door. "How did it go?"

"He signed the bill, took the wine and dessert before slamming the door in my face. So here is the case of twelve wine bottles you ordered, and there was a collector set downstairs that had four different bottles in the case, so that is what this wooden box is. Since you liked the forty-year wine, the manager said you spent enough to get this on the house." Pushing the cart into the room, he placed everything on the table and took the finished food.

"Please send my thanks to your manager. The dishes can be picked up in the morning. You need to go be with your mate, werewolf." Brielle moved the box to the side and pulled out a bottle, and opened it up. She got the cork out and poured a large helping into a new glass.

"Of course, and thank you. Have a great day!" The worker pushed the cart out and closed the door.

Brielle picked up the glass and took a sip, and swished it in her mouth before swallowing. "Mmmmm. So good." She had closed the blinds in the living room, lit a few candles and looked at Evaki. Who was now perched on the table.

Evaki looked at Brielle, carefully watching what she was doing and screeched softly but happily. As to not be too loud.

Brielle finished off half the bottle while eating the dessert. She corked the wine and got up, stumbling a little. Hearing Evaki screech in concern, Brielle looked over. "I'm ooookay. A little drunk." She giggled, made her way to the bedroom and flopped down on the fluffy mattress. She stripped down to her panties under the covers. Brielle smiled and closed her eyes, sleeping peacefully.

Two hours later, Brielle starts thrashing in her bed, dreaming of what happened in the past. "No, please…. Don't... It's not my fault…."

Ketan slept off Kitty's blood when she was drunk and appeared where his mark was. He held out his hand and glared at the mark but hearing Brielle's words, he stopped. Ketan stepped into the shadows. Once he realized she was sleep talking, he walked to the bed and sat on the edge. He listened to her words.

"I-its not my fault. Please stop." Tears raced down Brielle's cheeks.
