"Not much, but that it was nice to have someone that didn't care about stereotypes. I also helped Jenna get the marks for the baking in class. It was done over webcam." Seth smiled and took the bowl away, and placed it on the table.
Jenna stood at the entranceway to the dining room and smiled. "Seth was a great help, and can he ever bake! We traded goodies when he came over after class."
"I am relieved to hear that. I originally wanted you to have a great friend, and it seems that you have found the best one that you could ever find." Looking at the food dish, Brielle shook her head. "After Alice and Blake come up, I will go to bed. I am still weak and tired even after sleeping for a week."
"Leo wanted to keep you in the infirmary longer, but you were the one that had to come home. It was for Mia, and I wasn't it?" looking at Brielle, Jenna watched as she started to pass out on the couch.
Brielle leaned against the armrest of the couch and closed her eyes. Passing out.
Jenna walked to Brielle, grabbed Brielle's cellphone and waved for Seth to follow her.
During that week of confinement, Ketan tried everything he could think of to break the cuffs and the escape. ~Mother… Father… Kitty… Sylvie… anyone?~ Trying to form a connection using the mind link, he heard nothing back. "FUCK!" Ketan charged the bars and dislocated his shoulder, but the bars stayed put. 'I'm wasting energy, and I am starting to get thirsty. I can't stop thinking about my little hunter.' He sat down and started planning. With his hearing, he listened to the mechanism in the wall opening and laid on the ground, making himself look like he was passed out.
One of his kidnappers came into the come and unlocked the cage, grumbling. "I was supposed to be on my way home. Now, I am here for guard duty. This is fucking ridiculous." He uncuffed Ketan and turned his back on the vampire.
Seeing his chance, Ketan pounced on the guy and latched onto his neck. He drank the guy's blood deeply until the last drop, then went to the door and tried to see how to get out. "Let me out of here, you sick fucks." Pounding on the door, Ketan glares at the camera.
A voice comes through the speakers. "You were exactly what I was hoping to find, a feisty killer vampire. Enjoy your nap." The room begins to fill with toxic sleeping gas.
"YOU SICK BASTARD! I will get you for this!!!" Ketan continued glaring as the gas filled the room, and he stood back from the door. The sleeping gas didn't hit him for an hour, and that was when his body gave out. He fell to the floor, no longer awake.
"You two know what to do with him now." Vladimir watched the vampire while smirking. "Get to it, you two."
"Yes, boss." The two guys went into the room wearing gas masks, and one injected Ketan with enough tranquillizer that could kill an elephant. "We should be wary; he killed Trent in thirty seconds. We'll give him another dose on the drive over, just to be on the safe side. Wouldn't want to be attacked on the drive over." The two carry Ketan to the van.
Ten hours later, Ketan came to in a new room, uncuffed and alone. He turned to the camera in the corner and noticed that it was smashed. He stayed lying upon the ground as the room was still spinning. 'I should've stayed near you, my little hunter. Sorry, but it looks like I will be gone for a long time.' Trying to shake the fog in his mind, he passes back out.
Brielle could feel a pair of eyes on her as she slept, quickly she pounced on Alice and pins her to the ground. Breathing hard, she slowly comes to and immediately lets her go. "Sorry, Alice."
"No harm done. I should've known better than to stare at your sleep." Alice picked Brielle up and walked her to the bedroom that was closed. She laid Brielle on the bed, closed the door and sat on the edge of the bed. "You have nightmares, and your memories have been tampered with by someone. This person is someone that I cannot overpower, so I can't unlock those memories." Alice touches Brielle's cheek and wipes the tears away.
"I-I… sorry." Brielle tries to cover her face.
"No, don't turn away, Brielle. Let me help you." Alice pushes her hands away and kisses her on her forehead. "It seems that there is a lot more to you than I initially thought. Do you want me to block everything for you?
Shaking her head, Brielle looks up at Alice, and the tears continue to flow, "N-no. This is something that I have to remember, even if it haunts me until my last breath. As for my memories…. It was a vampire that I met over the weekend, and then I was hit with a spell that locked them away. From what I have pieced together is that he is the Prince of Darkness, or at least that is what Casimir said. I worked with him over the weekend. I talked to his blood vessel. She will contact me if she hears anything from him. Unless she doesn't, then she will also report it to me."
"The Prince of Darkness? Are you certain of this?" looking at Brielle in shock, Alice sits straighter.
Nodding her head slowly, Brielle took another deep breath. "I think he placed a bat mark to follow me around, but I am not certain of that. I can remember pieces, but I am not sure if it is good thinking or if I am fabricating my memories to fill the holes."
Alice tilts her head and summons a black kitten. "That is normal; a mark can be a few different things. Something that can track your whereabouts, a familiar which is an extension of the vampire, or a way for us to spy on our targets. In your case, you might have been important to the vampire, which is why he took your memories. If you run into him again, you will get those memories back." Alice pets the kitten in her lap.
"Oh, I see. Thank you for telling me. Blake had said that there was something that you wanted to talk to me about?" Brielle looked up at Alice.
"Oh, yes! I wanted to thank you for everything that you have done for our family. Blake has been enjoying his time up at the school. He comes home with all sorts of stories. I was going to tell you that if you needed anything from me, do not hesitate to ask. Now, if you require a sound sleep, I will take the nightmares away for the night. Jenna and Blake will go to school together tomorrow now that you are home." Alice leans over and kisses Brielle on the forehead.
"Thank you," feeling the kiss, she was no longer able to keep her eyes open. They slowly drooped as she passed out into a pleasant sleep.
Alice leaves the room and looks at the group in the living room. "Blake, you will go to classes tomorrow, and that goes for the two of you." She points to Jenna and Seth. "Olivia is resting, and in the morning, she will be fit as a fiddle. If she has any more questions, get her to contact me."
"KITTY!" Mia jumps up off the ground and runs to Alice with her hands out.
Alice bent down and placed her hand over Mia. "Be very gentle with the kitty. She is a shy one." When she touched the girl's hand, she saw flashes of memories that made her shiver. "You poor soul."
Jenna looked from Alice to Blake, then back again. "Mia, now that you have seen a kitty and know that Mama is okay. It is time that we get you to bed." She scooped Mia up and took her to her room, and laid her up on the bed.
Seth followed and smiled, "Let me read the bedtime story. You should deal with the guests since I do not know what is really happening." He took the book and took over Jenna's spot.
Jenna ran out of the room and stocked to the two. "Just what the fuck is going on. I only know bits and parts from overhearing things!?"
"Well, there is not much to explain other than the fact that there is another supernatural or even a human goes after her. They will be killed instantly. If the one that placed his familiar on her found out someone was trying to steal her…. He would go fucking nuts. That girl is dangerous, be very careful. I don't know what about her is bad news, but she will break Brielle." Alice hugged Jenna then whispered, "she has a hidden vampire marking. She is someone's pair."
Blake stood next to them and nodded his head. "I thought that it was strange. It might be because I have been around this world so long that I thought something was funny."
