"Sit." Augustus cocked his head to the chair I sat on. "I'm being kind here, sister. I hope you don't take it for granted."

I took a deep breath before walking back to the chair across from him. He didn't need to tell me to since what he said intrigued me. Who wouldn't? To utter ominous matters with such conviction in his voice, I wonder why he said such things.

"So?" I raised a brow as my eyelashes fluttered ever so slowly.

Augustus also arched his brow and glanced at the door. Just then, someone knocked from outside and opened it. It was the head maid I rarely see, pushing the food cart with the tea on it.

"How keen," I whispered, and he smirked. We didn't speak a word while the head maid served the tea until she bowed her head and left.

My eyes fell on the cup of tea in front of me. I never hesitated to eat or drink in this estate until now. The tea had a mild color of red and it made me wonder if this was normal tea or something else.
