"Liera?" Dennise was both surprised and confused.

'Why is Leira at a family dinner her brother was talking about? Does it mean that Leira is our relative or something?' Dennise wondered.

But then, she smiled and was even more excited. She was excited to know that their connection wasn't only friendship but something more. However, Leira's reaction was showing the contrary.

She didn't look happy at all, aside from being surprised. As if her heart shattered with the sight of Dennise at that moment. Leira kept on glancing between Denver and Dennise while shaking her head.

That was the first time Dennise saw her in that expression while she was in front of her. For all the time that she'd known Liera, she could always imagine her face beaming every time they were together. There was always that look of excitement on her face.
