Anyone would notice that Aectaeon was not too keen on having a partner. He didn't feel attracted to anyone. It's not because he was having a gender crisis. He just had his priorities sorted out.

Why would he, someone who was busy finding ways to survive, get a partner.

One might argue that having someone to share your burdens with was better than having no one. There was a charm in knowing that someone had your back during times that mattered.

It was reassuring, to say the least.

You wouldn't have to bear all of the burden by yourself.

But Aectaeon didn't see anything beneficial from having a partner. For him, having a partner would be a responsibility in itself. He also could find himself making time for someone just to appease them.

He was far too anxious from all the problems he had to deal with. He didn't need another catalyst to increase how preoccupied he was every single day.
