Bumping...?

Once he asked that question, the guard named Theophilus that had joked expensively with Mariam, shook.

"N...n...nothing m...m...my King!" Theophilus quickly denied as he stuttered.

The King stared at him for while with a blank expression on his face.

The King stared at him intensely, as if trying to look into his soul and source out the truth.

"Don't lie to me Theo...!" The King's voice roared.

"I'm the King, I can tell whenever you're lying to me, so just speak...now! The King ordered, instilling fear into Theophilus.

The guess knelt down and kept on begging, saying;

"Please, My King, I didn't think about anything bad...I...I swear...!" The guard begged.

Looking at him keenly from his throne, he King could tell that he was lying, sincerely.

After some few seconds, the King waves his hand and said;

"Get up, I don't waste precious time on people like you...!"

As the guard stood up the Queen watched him closely.

She had been watching him also when he had insulted Mariam.

She had wanted to say something, but the words could not form so she just shut her mouth...

* * * * * * *

Meanwhile, when Samuel had brought Andrew into his room and laid him on the King-sized bed, Samuel tucked him in properly.

When he had done that, he waited for Mariam to come, but when she had not yet arrived, he decided to go back and check the courtroom, if she was still there.

And his guess had been correct. She was there.

When he heard the guard insult her, he felt angry, and wanted to give the guard the insult of his life. But when the King spoke for her (Mariam) and also him too (partially), he relaxed and chuckled to himself when he heard what the King said...

" 'You are still under training and haven't even passed the first level of training and you're here, insulting my own daughter...?!" '

That was not even what had gotten his attention and made him laugh.

What had gotten his attention and  made him laugh was when the King said;

" 'Bring right here now the knife to cut a cucumber and you start falling off and need mighty help...but it's not gonna be given to you!" '

That one had him laughing, and if not for the fact that he was partially in the courtroom now and he could been seen, he would have been rolling on the floor in laugher.

But, as a responsible person that he was, he controlled himself.

So when the King had finished with the guard, and Mariam had turned and left, she was surprised to have ran into Samuel.

He was standing in the corridor, leaning on one (1) of the pillars, with his arms crossed over his chest and with a smile plastered on his face.

"What are you doing here...?" Mariam asked.

"Aren't you supposed to be with Andrew?" She asked again.

"Shouldn't I answer the first question first?" Samuel asked as he uncrossed his arms and walked towards Mariam.

It was Mariam's turn to cross her arms across her chest.

Once Samuel arrived at where Mariam was positioned, he just stood there and looked at her.

He looked at her eyes, switching form one eye to another.

"I'm waiting!" Mariam said while watching Samuel.

Samuel's eyes snapped up and looked at hers.

"For what?" He asked.

"Huh...?

"You said you were waiting, so now I'm asking 'for what' "? Samuel said.

"Where's Andrew...?!" Mariam shouted.

If not that they were far form where the elders were, they would all have heard Mariam's shout, bit thankfully, for that distance, they didn't.

Her shout jolted Samuel a bit.

"What's wrong with you?" Samuel asked as he covered his ear with his hand.

Mariam eyed him before saying;

"You can play later, but this not a situation to joke with Samuel...!" Mariam said.

"Who said I was playing in the first place...?" Samuel asked as he faked a frown.

"Just...where's Andrew?" Mariam asked.

"Now Andrew's getting all the attention here...?" Samuel asked as he frowned.

"I'm human too!" Samuel said as he pouted.

Sighing at Samuel's childish behavior, Mariam closed her eyes and shook her head.

Opening her eyes, she looked at Samuel and said;

"I know you're human too, we're all humans, you're both humans...!"

"But in this case, Andrew's really acting odd, so we have to focus all our attention on him...for now?"

"Does that mean that after you've attended to Andrew, you'll turn all your attention to me then...?" He asked hopefully.

Mariam just shook her head and walked past him.

After getting pat him a little bit, she turned and asked him;

"You don't happen to know where he is now, do you?"

Samuel sighed, and then slightly turned his head and said;

"He's in his room...!"

Mariam nodded and gently said;

"Okay...!"

And thentaking one quick look at Samuel, she turned and headed for Andrew's room.

Samuel noticed that she was looking at him, so he turned. But when he turned, she had already turned her face forward and was already heading for Andrew's room.

All he could do was sigh with his head lowered down and slowly, but steadily, he started moving, and he followed her.

They both moved till they were in Andrew's room.

Mariam had been worried that Samuel didn't take care of him properly, like tucking him in, or even laying him on the bed.

She was just worried concerning a lot of things.

First Samuel wanted to flirt with her, next she was worried about Andrew, that he was not sleeping well, or he might have fallen on the floor and....

'OH MY GOD...!' Mariam screamed in her head when she. Thought of that last part.

What if he had fallen to the floor? She asked herself.

And Samuel had left him there? She asked herself again as she thought about it.

This had her increase her pace.

As she walked, she was careful not to trip on her dress, so she carried the front of her dress up as she walked briskly.

As she walked, she took a turn that would to a row of rooms and one of them was Andrew's room.

But as she took that turn, she paused for bit in order to adjust her dress but in the process, she almost bumped into someone.

Mariam gasped.

"Oh...I'm sorry...!" She apologized.
