Jack listens to Keith telling him about the men he once killed. Jack can imagine it must have gone like this:
Keith propped his rifle. Pressing one cheek closer to the weapon. Squinting. Saw his targets showing patronizing smile at each other. Without hesitation, he fired shots at the first men furthest from the door. That man fell down instantly. Everyone there was too shocked as it happened so quickly. Within that split second, Keith shot two other men who sold out their local women to Westerners. Everything was done so calmly, Jack was sure.
"And you didn't want to just report them to military police? Let them get the legal punishment?"
"Nope. It would take too long of a time. I don't trust the system. I am not a bad guy, as you can see now. So. You are helping a guy with a sense of justice. Me."
