Nitte's Reason

There is a reason why Nitte and her group is collecting "bargaining chips." Their resentment towards Thanksgiving is being one of the reasons.

As Rosanne walks back with a bottle of wine, Nitte starts to speak.

"Hey, Rosanne.  Do you know who invented Thanksgiving?"

"The government?"  Rosanne says.

"Yeah.  By President Lincoln.  After the American Civil War, Lincoln wanted people to reconcile and be with their families.  So he dedicated this particular Thursday as a holiday.    It was not about thanking or recognizing Native Americans helping the Pilgrims."

"Oh."  Rosanne is not too surprised, "Well, that is kind of why I stop celebrating Thanksgiving this year.  If I know something that is not right, although I can't change it, at least I can start heading in the right direction."

Nitte is satisfied with Rosanne's answer.
