Not To Be Looked Down

"So, you are investing in my dad's business?" the young man asked. His eyes shifted to the first page of the document that he printed.

Sofia did not answer his question. Since the young man saw the document, even if she didn't confirm it, the paper would still be able to confirm his speculation.

In fact, Sofia sensed that the young man was not just scanning the document he was printing. Rather, he was intently reading it as he was too focused on his laptop screen.

Sofia switched the subject of their discussion and tried to get the young man's attention. "Is your father close to the mayor?"

The man shrugged while he arranged the papers he was holding. "The mayor and dad are indeed close. If the mayor's daughter chose my older brother, Dad would have been a good supporter of his political candidacy. It's too bad that the mayor's daughter married the Lee family. That family was never involved in any politics."
