Both of them got married secretly before he reached the breakthrough of his acting career.
Ryuu still remembered that day. He was so anxious as he waited for her to come to their secret meeting place. At that time, he was only able to buy a cheap ring to propose to her.
Even though he was getting more and more famous and the money kept pouring inside his bank account, Ryuu used most of them to pay the debt of his late father. He didn't have much left at the time he planned to propose to her.
"Are you a fool? To get married while your career is still developing? Do you want to lose your fans? Do you want to destroy your own hard work?"
Until now, Ryuu still remembered his manager, Yousuke's words when the latter got to know of his plan.
Despite his disapproval, Ryuu persevered until Yousuke had no choice but to agree.
Thus, he proceeded with the plan to propose to Yuina.
"Yuina... I don't have anything on my name, but... would you marry me? I promise I'll be good to you! Even when I'm famous, you're still the most important!"
His plan to act so calm and gentlemanly was thrown out of the windows.
Once he saw her, he blurted out the words. He could no longer remember the long and hearty speech he prepared for her.
Yuina laughed hearing him but her eyes were quick to become teary.
"Do you really want to marry me?" She asked at that time, "What if you meet a more beautiful and younger actress that you might love in the future?"
Although he understood she was teasing him, Ryuu vehemently denied her words.
"No. From before till forever, you're the only one for me!"
"Pfft! Are you actually recited your drama lines?" She laughed again.
All in all, Yuina accepted his proposal. They registered their marriage on the very next day.
She didn't know that the proposal was also out of his selfishness.
He didn't want her to turn her back to him because she might find a large gap between them as he advanced to the next levels of his career.
By marrying her, he could keep her by his side for a lifetime.
The memories of the past brought up an unpleasant feeling in Ryuu's heart.
He had to admit that although they were married, they didn't really resemble a happily married couple.
While she remained in the city for her work and life, he had to travel all around the world or be away from her because of his hectic schedule.
And...
Even though they had been married for seven years, yet, until now, he still didn't give her a dream wedding.
"My wife," Ryuu tightened his grasp on her hand. His next words echoed clearly in the car, "Let's hold a wedding?"
Wide-eyed with surprise, Yuina looked at her husband in bafflement.
"A wedding?" Her voice was tinged with disbelief.
The car stopped in front of the red light.
Ryuu turned his head halfway and resolutely nodded, "After I finished shooting the survival film, there would be a long break. Let's hold a wedding at that time?"
Yuina was caught in a daze. She didn't expect to hear plans about a wedding from his mouth.
They had never discussed this before.
Seven years ago, she was contented by just registering their marriage together. Yuina didn't anticipate a wedding because Ryuu grew busier as days went by while she also had just started working.
"Won't this... affect you?" Yuina was reluctant as she thought of the bad reputation that would smear his name once their hidden marriage was exposed.
The scandal would greatly affect his pristine white reputation.
"I don't care about that," Ryuu answered firmly, "I've been in the industry for ten years. Although I feel sorry because I have been lying to my fans but, you're the most important to me, Yuina. I've wronged you for so long."
The most important...
Yuina felt her nose soured because that was his words when he proposed to her years ago.
Ryuu's eyes fell on the road ahead of them but he kept holding her hands.
"From the days I could only pick trash to fill my stomach, you're with me. I've delayed it for so many years. I don't want to keep you waiting anymore."
He wanted to announce her presence to the whole world.
He wanted to say this was the woman who had brought him out of the darkness.
"...Okay," Yuina wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. She gave him a heartfelt smile, "Ryuu, thank you."
Thank you so much.
Ryuu smiled faintly. He lifted up the hand that was holding hers and brought them closer to one side of his face.
"I love you, Yuina."
Yuina smiled, "I love you too, Ryuu."
That night, her mood was greatly boosted by his words. Yuina thought she could faint from the overwhelming happiness that surged up from the bottom of her heart.
One day, not too long in the future, she could walk down the aisle to him.
While Yuina was embedded in happiness because of her husband's indulgence, two adults and two children had just gotten out of a restaurant at Kaiyo River.
"Have you had your fill?" Kazuya glanced at Himari while carrying Chiharu, "What do you say if we have desserts next?"
They had just finished an early dinner at the restaurant. As Kazuya had told her, he came to pick the siblings up together with her.
Himari could say tonight's dinner was so delicious. She couldn't help but feel guilty when she thought of Chobi who just had dry kibbles for dinner tonight.
It seemed like she had to give him his favorite wet food to ease her guilt.
"Is there any..."
"Chiharu wants desserts~"
Before Himari could finish her question, Chiharu quickly answered her uncle's question. Her eyes were twinkling as she looked at her uncle with anticipation.
"Uncle~ Chiharu's handsome and good-looking uncle~ Let's go and buy the rainbow crepe, please?"
Pretty words flowed out of Chiharu's mouth as she was attempting to lure her uncle to fall under her request.
"You smelly kid," Kazuya poked her nose, "You've eaten the pudding during our dinner earlier. Don't tell me that you forgot that you also ate your brother's share?"
"Big Brother gave it to Chiharu! Chiharu couldn't just waste it!"
Her reasons sounded so righteous it made Himari burst out laughing.
"Just ignore her," Kazuya focused back on Himari, "Teacher Kato, do you want anything else? The sweet shops around here have pretty good selections."
"Teacher, one of the shops has delicious red velvet cookies," Izumi said from one side.
Although Izumi felt a bit awkward having dinner with his homeroom teacher, the feeling gradually loosened as time passed.
Teacher Kato was a likable teacher. Izumi had understood that fact from the first time he was under her care.
Neither Teacher Kato nor Uncle mentioned the incident that happened this morning.
"Having a jar of red velvet cookies sounds good," Himari had long pushed aside her shyness with the three of them.
"A jar for Chiharu too!" Chiharu quickly seized the opportunity.
The three of them laughed at her antics.
The view alongside Kaiyo River was magnificent even at night. The pink color of the blooming cherry blossoms created waves above their head.
As the trees were adorned with small lights, the illumination created a romantic atmosphere for the people visiting. Occasionally, the petals glided in the air once the night breeze passed them before they fell on the ground.
Kazuya brought Himari and the two little rascals to the sweet shop he mentioned. Himari picked a jar of red velvet cookies as well as one of the dark chocolate cookies for herself.
Kazuya and Chiharu were bickering next to the cookie shelf.
"Chiharu has behaved so well, why can't Chiharu has one?" The little dumpling repeatedly persuading the man to buy her cookies.
Kazuya tilted his head. A smirk hung on his lips, "En, but why did I remember you forgot to tidy up your toys yesterday? Oh, and the day before, you messed up my study with your colored pencils. Are those behaving well?"
Chiharu wanted to cry.
How could Uncle use this time to settle the old accounts with her? Q^Q
Himari couldn't help but laugh. Even Izumi who stood next to her stifle his laugh from hurting his little sister's feelings.
"Is she really not getting even one jar?" Himari felt sorry for the little dumpling but she really felt it was funny.
Her pouty lips looked so cute~
"We still have many desserts at home. This glutton should learn to not eat too much sugar," Kazuya glanced at her with a smile. His eyes fell on the cookie jars in her hands, "Oh, have you chose the cookies that you want? Let me pay for them."
"Ah, there's no need..."
"Hehehe."
Both Kazuya and Himari were confused when suddenly an old lady laughing at them.
The old lady looked at them then her gaze fell on Chiharu, "Child, just ask the cookies from your mother. Aiya, your father only buys it for her. Don't be sad, ah."
The old lady laughed again.
Kazuya and Himari froze.
It seemed like, to the outsiders, they looked like a family.
Both of them surreptitiously looked at one another. Once their gaze met, they hurriedly looked away.
