Mana

The man has been working here for several decades and only a few people managed to pique his interest...

The kid was perhaps six or seven years old based on his small frame but he can already read Lyrana Language…

Most of the people in this kingdom only know the Orion Language which is being used as a standard language for all kingdoms.

He decided to use Lyrana for fun as he wanted to see how educated his customers are. Of course, even if they don't know the language, he would still help them depending on his mood.

"What do you want me to do?" He asked.

This is what Kaiden was waiting for.

"I want to make a trade."

"A trade? What can a child like you trade with my items here?" The man was curious. He can see from Kaiden's eyes that he was serious about this.

However, all the items being sold in his store were expensive and the Emblem of Fate would also cost more than three thousand gold coins…

Nevertheless, since he has nothing to do, he decided to listen to the kid for his pastime.

Kaiden smirked as he took a deep breath before laying out his offer.

"I know that you are having trouble in one of your Magic Items. It will be dangerous if it wasn't taken of… I can fix it for you but in exchange, I want the Emblem of Fate."

The young man explained. He saw the old man's face being shaken by what he just heard.

"Y-you… Where did you hear that?"

It was true that he has an uncontrollable Magic Item that was about to explode due to an unknown reason…

The mana within the Magic Item was showing signs of being overloaded but he couldn't bear to throw it away as it was a precious item for him.

Apparently, the existence of Mana in this world is natural but it's not something that anyone could freely use.

The people who can control this Mana were called Magicians and they can control it like an extension of their hands.

When Kaiden saw Magicians for the first time, he was very amazed by how they can control the formless mana to do their bid…

However, it was nothing like the Awakened people who can convert Mana into something else, like creating Fire, Ice, or other elements. In fact, all the nineteen awakened powers someday would require Mana as it is the source of mysticism in this world.

It means that the magicians now who can only command it to do something like lifting things were like beginners in front of the Awakened people.

"My hearing is quite good so I know a lot of things… So, would you like me to employ, Sir?"

Kaiden gave a vague explanation as he asked the old man…

"Mhmm… Although I'd like to get it fixed, I don't trust suspicious people." The store owner answered.

He would regret it if the Magic Item was destroyed by this child instead of fixing it. He can't trust him so easily.

The young boy doesn't appear to be disappointed as he nodded to the old man. He knows that it wouldn't be easy so he started to persuade him.

"The item we're talking about is a Memory Bank Crystal. Is that right? It contains precious records of moments that I'm unaware of…"

The old man just stared at him without acknowledging it.

After seeing this, Kaiden continued.

"This Crystal is an item made by magicians and it is powered by Mana. If the crystal is broken, there is no way for us to retrieve its content. Not even the Grand Wizard, the oldest and strongest magician, would be capable of fixing a broken Memory Bank Crystal."

"So?"

"I guess you already asked for help from the others."

"That's right… There is no Magician who can guarantee that they'll fix the crystal. The highest probability they can give me is 6%..."

The old man smiled wryly after remembering it.

"I thought as much… After all, this Crystal is a sensitive item. Especially those that were made in the earlier years. However, I have a method to fix it with a hundred percent chance that it will be successful… You just need to give an hour or less. Trust me."

Kaiden said as he did his best to sound like a trustworthy person.

Their conversation lasted for about ten more minutes before Kaiden managed to convince the old man.

"Fine… I can give you the Emblem of Fate and you can even take one more item with you. However, if you failed to fix it and even caused damage to the crystal, you'll be working in this store for free for the next 10 years."

"Great! Even if you make it for twenty years, I'll gladly accept… Haha… Don't worry, I'll sort it out for you."

Kaiden confidently announced.

"For now, tell me your name…"

"Right, please call me Kaiden."

"Alright, Kaiden… I'll bring you to the item now. Follow me."

Anyway, the Memory Bank Crystal was already showing signs of being broken, so it might be better to take his chance with this mysterious child.

The two went to the upper floor of the store after the man flipped the sign to inform his customers that the store is now closed.

He wanted to watch Kaiden fix the crystal and he didn't want to be interrupted once he started.

"Here…"

The Crystal is deep blue with a shade of redness at the center... It is similar to the size of an adult's fist and it is fitted in a cube metal box.

"Can you even feel the Mana? I don't think that you're a magician." The old man commented.

"It's fine… Wait for me…"

Kaiden said as he took the Crystal out of the metal box. That box is what was stopping the Crystal from going berserk or self-destructing, so the man was very surprised by how Kaiden picked it up…

'Does he not know that an explosion of mana can cause injuries?!'

However, as he was about to scold Kaiden, he suddenly noticed that the redness of the crystal was starting to dissipate…

"Aaahh! How did you---"

He suddenly remembered something as he quickly shut his mouth. He's afraid that he would interrupt Kaiden's concentration…

He doesn't know what was happening but it seems that this kid was truly skillful.

Kaiden, on the other hand, wasn't having a hard time in this situation.

What he was doing right now is a technique for cultivating Mana within his body.

'This is hitting two birds with one stone…' Kaiden thought as he felt the Mana slowly flowing into his body.

The Awakening that will happen in the future requires Mana Body Cultivation as a prerequisite, it is unlike the Magician's Mana Control where mana is only being used externally…

What he just did was to incorporate the Mana that is being contained within the crystal into his body.

'Eh? There's too much mana!'

Kaiden suddenly noticed a problem. His body was still too young and his body couldn't handle a sudden burst of mana.

If he didn't do something, he would get an internal injury and that would be difficult to heal!
