The Day goes Terrible

Dan pulls the chair, as he sat down facing Liam who was staring at him. Unnerved, Dan glances away from Liam's gaze. What does Liam want with him? Is he going to tell Dan that he's fired? Well, he hopes not.

"Well kid, you did cause a commotion huh?" Liam bluntly said as Dan chuckled nervously. Dan gotta admit, he did cause a lot of mess in the media. Specifically the news.

"Didn't I said to not cause any trouble? You do know you're not the only one who is going to get in trouble." Liam took a sip of his coffee, "So any changes to your body?"

Dan hesitated a bit but he answered. "Well for a certain I don't think I'm normal anymore? Like I go fast, like fast kind of fast. Then I punched a hole in my door. What did you give me? Why is this happening? I've never seen you in the news or articles, are you really the CEO's brother?"

Dan questioned Liam, but alas Liam didn't answer any of his questions, only inspected on how Dan looked. Liam sighed as he finishes his coffee. "At very least, you didn't die. A lot of my test subjects just die in a day or two."

"Die? What- what do you mean by dying?? You're admitting to murder?" Dan had frantically said, freaked out by what Liam had said. Test subjects only mean Liam had done this to many people already, but they didn't survive?

"You do know I'm talking about lab rats right? Well maybe it's because of your DNA, all of the rats died, except for you." Liam continued to stare at him, eyes glinting with madness and curiosity, "what is so special about you?"

"what?" Dan didn't know how to answer that, what did make him so special? Nothing, to be honest, the only time someone ever said he was special was his mom. Even that she rarely says that. Thinking back, Dan doesn't think that one of his family members has anything weird, nor having weird genetics. To Dan, this was just pure luck.

"I don't know, but I don't want to be involved with any of this," Dan grunted crossing his arms. "Am I fired?"

"No, you're not." Dan sighed in relief, maybe he can go tonight, and try to convince Cooper that he was just sick or something. Dan wanted to get other jobs, but the night guard job makes the most out of all his jobs.

"Whatever, last question. Why choose to show up now?" Liam's face grew grim, his hands clenched. Dan glanced at the man, waiting for the man to answer.

"My brother is trying to use my work for evil deeds, the CEO or my brother, Adam Lincoln. Has always been ambitious, especially towards these kinds of things. He hid the fact that I was alive, keeping me away from the public, and manipulating me to create the vial. "

"What is the vial? Is it the thing I drank? Why is it so important?" Dan inquired waving his hands in gestures. Liam only sighed, rubbing his temples.

"The vial was to create soldiers, to create something that can overthrow the government. It was his dream to overthrow the government considering he was at the lowest at that time, but his mind isn't normal anymore. He doesn't stop until he gets what he wants. Especially when Evan left."

"Evan? Who's Evan? And he wants to destroy the government? Is he out of his mind?" Dan exclaimed, shocked at listening to Liam's explanation. There are so many things that the Lincoln cooperation is hiding from the public, but something this big? How is this not in the media?

"Evan Peters, if you know he was one of the founding members on the cooperation. I think Evan has been on the news several times, especially with his daughter." Liam stated, "But several years ago, Evan left of the face of the earth, and that was when his daughter, Elise disappeared."

Dan does remember Evan Peters, surprisingly. Around 2020 Evan Peters was on every news in the media. Considering his daughter disappeared, made everything worst for the man. Some conspiracy theories said the cooperation has something to do with Elis's disappearance.

"So what do I do?" Dan argued, "It's not like I can do much with it? As long as the CEO doesn't get the vial, then everything is fine right?"

"It's not that easy Daniel." Liam snapped back, "You don't understand, my lab is inside the building, all my life work is there. If only you weren't there, I would have gone out safe and sound."

"Oh, so it's my fault now!? I'm just doing my job!" Dan hissed at him, how was he suppose to know Liam was trying to leave. He was just doing his night patrol. "Anyways he's your brother, you can just go back and get your stuff right?"

"I can't, Adam knows what I'm doing. He would just hire a hitman to kill me off, considering he doesn't care whether I die or not." Liam stressed, "There is only one way, and you are helping me."

"And what if I don't?" Dan taunted, sick of the argument they were having. "I can just hide this- this weird thing inside me, and live off normally." Dan could just leave the café and go back home and believe everything never happened.

"My brother is already suspicious of you, especially several days ago. The only reason why he didn't fire you, it's because he's watching you." Liam warned.

Great, now there was a chance that he was going to get killed off. What more trouble can he get. "So what am I suppose to do? Just walk in there like nothing ever happened?"

"No, you are going to get the files. Sneak in if you can. Anything. I'll- I'll find Evan." Liam stated, "Though I'm not sure if I could find Evan soon enough, just be aware of the danger you're facing."

Dan sigh, as the silence fell towards them. Liam's probably also stressed out, the fact his brother is trying to kill him? Yikes. Dan glance at the glass of milk on the table, maybe if he gulps it down, he'll feel better.

Both men jumped from their chairs as they look towards the source of the sound. Yells and screams were coming from outside. Horrified gasp and the orange flames were dancing outside the door.

Dan ran leaving the frozen Liam behind. Trying to check out if the cafe was okay, but everybody inside was completely fine, with no damages. But all their eyes were on one thing outside, on the other side of the road. The glass window showed the other building blazing aflame, and a crashed car.

"Oh my god, that building is burning!"

"ANYBODY CALL 911!"

"let's get out of here!"

Dan had looked at the orange flames in surprise. What is going on? Were there people in the building? He was just about to run out, and leave. Liam who was now beside him has been trying to convince him to leave, and leave it to the authorities.

"Daniel. Let's go!" Liam ordered, Dan had just nodded along, dazed at the screams of the neighborhood. But something had stopped him and made him froze on his foot.

"Please! HELP ME! MY-MY SON!" a lady had been frantically pulled by anybody who can help, but everybody had only looked at the ablaze building and the lady in pity. Dan doesn't know what he was doing, but he felt himself moving. No, he was running.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE DANIEL, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"

He ignored the screams, as he was running. He could only look back at Liam and yell back. "Don't worry! I'll stay hidden!"

With the speed he had, he ran into the streets, circling the neighborhood, as he went to the back of the building. He ran to the wall of the burning building, to avoid the people.

"HELP ME! MOMMY!"

He went into the fire following the despair yells of a kid.
