As years went by and Earth evolved into a foreseen futuristic, sci-fi world, everything went through changes; the buildings, vehicles, weapons even the vegetation and animals didn't remain unscathed. Yet one thing stayed the same throughout all history, something indispensable for the human race, something no one could ever think of leaving out in their daily lives and yet being the very cause of human demise, work.
During the whole change process not even once was the human work ethic thought of as a problem causing a rise in the demand for entertainment and distraction from the daily routines. Those a new game system called Virtual Reality was created, giving everyone the possibility to fully immerse in other worlds and escaping the trials of life.

Bao, threw himself in such a world but without thinking of the consequences of such a deed, for nobody asked themselves, what if life in this virtual world is better than reality and even worse what if the boundaries between the two become indistinct?

Changing my life with a level system

How could a level/game system affect modern life?


The idea for this story was born with that simple question in mind, but as always in search of answers to one question, you'll most likely find even more questions whose answers are unknown.


If that would be the case wouldn't people with low levels be discarded as nuisances?


Would that help or destroy human society?


And far more question arose as I thought of the consequences of such a system until I reached one final question:


A more than a reasonable question, given the fact that it was fairly obvious THAT something would change, but how?


Solving a fairly philosophical question, seemed an impossible feat for a simple person such as myself and even more than that, it looked like a waste of time given the fact that the inspiration came from simple entertainment stories such as Sword art Online and the likes. However, my curiosity was awakened and the solution was nowhere to be found.


So I gave those questions a world, a name and a character whose job was to find its answers, in short, "Changing my life with a level system" was born.


I hope you'll have as much fun reading it as I had writing it.
