The Lifegivers

Evan covered his mouth so he wouldn't scream. He couldn't panic in this situation, and he still had to act fast.

"I'm sorry." Evan closed Emily's eyes, took the sniper rifle, and descended from the surveillance tower.

Just as he was about to run, he ran into several people, including Nelson and Carlos.

"We heard gunshots." Nelson said. "What happened?"

"There are monsters." Evan really kept his voice from sounding panicked, or else the information wouldn't be adequately conveyed. "From a distance I...."

"Hey, why are you carrying Emily's rifle!? Why is there blood on your shirt!?" Carlos asked while pointing at the young man.

Evan checked the jacket he was wearing. It turned out that there was indeed a blood splatter on it.

Carlos widened his eyes when he saw the drops of blood from the top of the tower. "Did you kill Emily!?"

"There's blood on his shirt, though."
