What's New? What's That?

The tour didn't last the whole afternoon as it was originally planned. The boys left to meet Nico somewhere and the girls and I decided to just wait for them in the trailer van.

It was almost time to go back to the hotel anyways, and the girls were pretty much bummed already since they weren't able to find anything – or anyone – interesting.

Lots of tents and areas were still off limits and we didn't want to get into trouble a day before the event. The girls were mumbling something about how tight the security was on one stage as they speculated a celebrity might have been doing last minute rehearsals.

"I guess tomorrow we will see how things will go." Suzy quipped.

Becky and her were lounging at the sofa while Ali was at the second floor flipping channels on the television. An upbeat tune rang loudly as she stayed on one channel. The music faded and then someone spoke with a chirp.

"And now live at the site where Coachella 2022 will be held for two weekends beginning tomorrow, we have Curt Sheppard and one of the event organizers, Jane Clarkson, to answer us some frequently asked questions regarding the event. Curt, you're on!"

"Yes, thank you Matt! So, hi I see we have a really beautiful lady here, Miss Jane Clarkson, one of the organizers of Coachella 2022, renowned artist herself." Came another cheerful and eloquent voice.

Becky and Suzy got interested and clambered to see what was on show upstairs. I slowly went up after them and took my place on one of the beanie bags in the middle, where everyone was huddled together.

"Here have some, I found it in one of the cupboards." Ali said as she passed down some chips in a bowl.

The show continued on as the woman explained the event and what was to be expected with their comeback from nearly two years of being cancelled.

"The music festival this 2022 will be a total blast! Not only are we targeting satisfaction for music and arts enthusiast, we have also given some thought about fun activities for people of all generation." She said.

"Now what has made you organizers think of such big changes, Jane? Coachella had been for many years, solely for – let's not deny it haha - the life of the party, arts, and yes fashion, absolutely no doubt about that. What was the catalyst to these new additions?"

"Well, Curt. We saw how the morals of people drastically decreased because of the pandemic that has happened for nearly three years. Now that majority of the people are vaccinated and cases have finally seen its last, we wanted to give the people something to celebrate, and that is being one family that celebrates life and love through Coachella."

"So let me get it straight, this event is not only limited to the teens and young adults, but also for families with children and older people?"

"That is right Curt. We have included lots of new activities for them to experience - tents for recreation are available for the young and old, which will still showcase the spirit and love of music and arts. The giant and iconic ferris wheel is still there with a few additional rides for the young ones."

"Fantastic! Alright last questions, some people online have been meaning to ask, what kind of music and who are the artists that would perform for this year? And are there any more tickets available?" Curt asked.

"We have already given out names for minor acts and some clues for the major acts this year. Stay tuned this midnight for the grand reveal; it will be available on the website."

"Oh, and for the tickets... although we have already sold-out months ago, we do have a big surprise." Jane smiled and winked at the camera, "Be sure to be there at the website, midnight!"

"Marvelous. Coachella 2022 is definitely an event to look forward! And that would be all for BCD Showbiz News. Thank you Miss Jane Clarkson –"

"Thank you to you too, Curt. It's a pleasure."

The camera zoomed out and then focused solely on the reporter as he said, "Back to you Matt!"

The rapport of the news reporter and interviewee ended and with it, global news flashed on the screen. Ali decided to throw the remote to Becky and slumped on the floor.

"You can take the remote now. Not a fan of the news actually." She said.

Becky clumsily caught the remote and then asked Suzy and me what we would like to watch.

"You girls can choose. I'll just watch whatever you like." I told her.

"Great then! Becky, turn to Netflix and see what's up." Suzy beamed.

Just as a movie comes into show, there was a ruckus below and we heard the trailer van's door open and close as the boys came up from their short meeting.

Becky immediately left our little circle in front of the television and went down to meet Zeke.

"Babe! How did it go?" she said halfway down.

The three of us left upstairs decided stop watching and followed suit. Just in time when Ali was to go down, we saw Becky and Zeke in the middle of a quick peck.

"Uhh… single ladies here, hello? Why you gotta slap us daily we are single?" Ali joked and the two broke off with Becky flushed and Zeke grinning wildly.

"You seem really happy. Is it because of that talent scout?" Suzy asked as she crossed her arms below her well-endowed chest.

"Sure it is." Nico beamed his pearly white teeth. "We are given the best schedule for tomorrow as opening act for the evening performance!"

There was a short-lived silence that filled the trailer van up until the girls began to squeal in excitement. They were congratulating the boys and giving hugs here and there.

Becky and Zeke, well there isn't really anything new to see with the two of them.

As usual – locked in a lover's kiss.

Ali and Nico high-fived and she gave him a hug saying, "You guys are doing great! It was the best mistake to upload those vids on Youtube, wasn't it?"

"Sure as heck it was!" came Nico's reply.

Everybody were overjoyed and I tried to blend in the festivity by smiling once in a while when one of them would look my way.

Suzy was having her rounds at hugging the boys, and when she got to hugging Bash, his eyes suddenly searched for something – or was it someone? - else.

She was talking to him and her attention was his, but then Bash looked away and found me at the back.

I knew that he noticed I wasn't sharing the same enthusiasm as the rest but even so, the idiot just smirked and he smiled at me, all the while sending me a quick wink.

I stood there at the back, speechless.

What was that for?
