Meet the Parents

There was a long pregnant pause before one of them responded. Mom's eyes were droopy, and even dad was groggy like he was drunk from a night out with his colleagues.

The tranced look on mom's face was so oddly satisfying I wanted to take a picture of it, but eventually decided not to.

I was afraid the flash might wake them up from the spell or something.

If it did work in the first place.

The girls waited, and when our parents responded, our mouths simultaneously dropped open in surprise.

"That would be a good idea, Liz. We should go home right away. Your father still needed to prepare for another business trip this Monday too." Mom told me.

"Right, we are still a long way home. Let's better pack up honey and let the kids have fun. We already know they are in good hands." He drawled.

Dad winked at Ali and said, "You girls keep safe, okay? Drink moderately."

Oh – my – goodness! I can't believe the spell really worked!
