Change Is Inevitable

"You knew me for a long time already?" I suddenly caught my voice shot up a tone. I cleared my throat and controlled my reactions into a minimum, not wanting to show too much.

"From school. It has been months since Becky and Zeke went out, and sometimes we get to see you from a distance as Zeke drops her off your dormitory." He blushed.

I couldn't suppress a laugh, and I kind of snorted as I tried to cover my mouth. "Were you my stalker or something?" I asked him.

The man's eyes widened with embarrassment and he turned away from me saying, "Of course not! I – we, we just get to see you here and there. And Becky talks about you a lot too. How you were so cool to stand up against your mom, and one time where you punched a guy on 5th grade who was hitting on Becky the wrong way."

I crossed my arms over my chest and then nudged him with my foot. He didn't turn my way, and so I kicked him harder for the second time.
