The blind seer didn't respond. And I was left with no choice but to do as he said. It had been brief, and just as I had started to absorb the details of the scene that played right in front of me, everything became muddled up and then gradually returned to normal.

He bowed his head and said, "That would be all that I will give to you. I can't let people see everything."

"Because?" I prodded.

"Because that is not the way it is supposed to be," he said as he turned his back, "Go on now, Elizabeth. You are in the right path, but I shall warn you to be careful who you trust. Not everyone is as kind as your heart is."

The blind seer twisted the doorknob, and silently went outside of the library's restricted room. Running to catch up to him, I opened the door to see no one. He just vanished without a goodbye.

What did he mean when he said never to blindly trust anyone?
