Chapter 33 When Mother in law and Daughter in Law Talk

Appreciate little things in life before its too late.

Ask forgiveness and sleep with clean heart, even if he person hasn't been okay with you just try, if they still don't all to you then leave it at least you tried.

Mrs Ahlam.

"Mom!" Aahil grabbed her hand slowly  and scrubbed with his own, warming hers while his father just prayed and blew on his wife to wake up.

What just happened?

I rushed in to the kitchen, took glass of water which was on the table and sprinkled it on my mother in laws face, after few minutes she finally opened her eyes which sighed us in relaxation, I prayed silently and thanked Almighty.

"Are you okay darling?" Uncle Firoz asked her and she nodded as they made her sit on the couch. She kept looking down and at me weirdly, that strange stare which just caught me off guard. Why was she glancing at me?Had I hurt her unwillingly? sometimes our words or actions can hurt people, we make mistakes if it is then I will apologise. We have been so close so what changed?

"Yeah," she answered in a weak voice and coughed a little, Aahil immediately handed a glass of water to her to which she drank and shut her eyes as if she was  in severe pain. It pained me to see her like this, such a weak state.

"Mom, you are scaring us, what's wrong please do tell us, we will support you," Aahil said as he sat next to her and she just gazed ahead and shook her head. She wasn't willing to share anything with anyone.

"Nothing I just went to a party and felt dizziness that's all," she said without meeting anyone's eyes, I knew her better although we weren't on good terms but before we were. I knew when she was lying even uncle Firoz noticed and Aahil but uncle just silenced us with his finger and we both didn't utter another word, we let her rest while uncle Firoz lay her head on a pillow and prayed on her until she dozed off. Still not used to call uncle Firoz dad, I just don't know why does it take longer to take inlaws as our own?

Does it take year's to gain their trust and adjust with them? we leave everything and build new relations with them, that's beauty only girls can do, they live their single life apart from when they get proposal or fall in love.

"I am so worried about mom, I feel something worst is going to happen, something has been happening with her for the past few days," I explained to uncle Firoz and Aahil thought of it then agreed. They both looked lost again. Nowdays we were more silent than talking with each other.

"True we have to keep an eye on her and she needs complete bed rest," the uncle said and we both agreed they both discussed business while I prepared dinner silently as I prayed in my mind.

"Dinner is ready, I will go and check on mom," I yelled from another side while the chef served them and I rushed towards their room and found the door slightly opened while she was staring at the ceiling.

I knocked but didn't get any response. Stubborn mother in law of mine. What can I do to get her reaction?

I took slow and steady steps towards her, folded my arms across my chest and waited but only silence engulfed us, and sounds of our breathing were heard.

When I noticed carefully, her face had paled and tear dropped from her right eye, she didn't even wipe it. I moved slowly towards her bed.

I sat on the space next to her and stared at her as tears flew from her eyes I wiped them with my hand

but she just jerked my hand away.

"You have a fever," I stated despite her not cooperating I went to the bathroom put water in a bowl and white cloth, I rush back towards her, twisted the cloth in water and kept on her forehead with so many questions on my mind which only she had the answers to.

"Why are you doing this? why are you suffering and breaking all of us?have we made a mistake?Have I hurt you? have I done something wrong?" please tell me I begged her and she just shook her head, once done, I put the bowl away and took her hand in mine and entwined our fingers?

More tears flew from her eyes and I kissed her forehead.

Never judge a person, people suffer silently and yet put a smile on their face for their family sake.

"I am sorry if I have hurt you after my family passed away it was your family who has been my strength, my support, my role model, I admire it a lot, I have made many mistakes, Aahil has made many mistakes and yet we talked it out without informing you or uncle because we didn't want to stress you," I informed her and she nodded.

At least something rather than nothing at all.

"I have made a huge mistake," I heard her say in a sad tone and my eyes widened with surprise and concern for her.

"What? what mistake?" I asked her as I closed the door I knew she didn't want anyone to know she pointed towards the door.
