Chapter 39 Mother in Law and Daughter in Law talk-Bond

Appreciate little things in life before its too late.

Ask forgiveness and sleep with clean heart, even if he person hasn't been okay with you just try, if they still don't all to you then leave it at least you tried.

Mrs Ahlam.

"Mom!" Aahil grabbed her hand slowly and scrubbed with his own, warning her while his father just prayed and blew on his wife to wake up. Please mom wake up, we all need you, you are head and one of main pillar of our house.

What just happened?

I rushed in to the kitchen, grabbed glass of water which was on the table and poured on my mother in laws face, I always used to do that for y parents either blow on them or give them water to drink especially prayed one, after few minutes she finally opened her eyes which sighed us in relief, I prayed silently and thanked Almighty.

"Are you okay darling?" Uncle Firoz asked her lovingly, the love they both have and I hope something which has been bothering his wife doesn't change their beautiful relationship and she nodded without any smile and tear flew from her eye as they made her sit on the couch. She kept looking down and at me weirdly, that strange stare which just caught me off guard every now and then since some few days. Why was she staring at me?Had I hurt her unwillingly?Sometimes our words or actions can hurt people, we make mistakes if it is then I will apologise. We have been so close so what changed?

"Yeah," she responded in a vulnerable voice and coughed a little, Aahil immediately handed a glass of water to her to which she gulped down and shut her eyes as if she was in severe pain. It pained me to see her like this, such weak state. I wish she could share with me everything like she did before.

"Mom, you are scaring us, what's wrong please do tell us, we will support you," Aahil told  her  as he sat next to her and she just stared ahead and shook her head. She wasn't willing to share anything with anyone. Had she done something which she was guilty of.

"Nothing I just went to a party and felt diziness that's all," she said without meeting anyone's eyes, I knew her better although we weren't on good terms but before we were and I knew when she was lying even uncle Firoz noticed also but he didn't utter a word just to keep peace and Aahil was about to question more but uncle just silenced us with his finger and we both didn't utter another word, we let her rest while uncle Firoz lay her head on a pillow and prayed on her until she dozed off. Still not used to call uncle Firoz dad, I just don't know why does it take long to take inlaws as our own?

Does it take year's to gain their trust and adjust with them?we leave everything and build new relations with them, that's beauty only girls can do, they live their single life apart when they get proposal or fall in love.

"I am so worried about mom, I feel something worst is going to happen, something really has been happening with her from past few days," I explained to uncle Firoz and Aahil thought of it then agreed. They both looked lost again.Nowdays we were more silent than talking with each other.

"True we have to keep an eye on her and she needs complete bed rest," uncle said and we both agreed they both discussed business while I prepared dinner silently as I prayed in my mind.

"Dinner is ready, I will go and check on mom," I yelled from another side while chef served them and I rushed towards their room and found the door slightly opened while she was staring at the ceiling.

I knocked but didn't get any response. Stubborn mother in law of mine. What can I do to get her reaction?

I took slow and steady steps towards her, folded my arms across my chest and waited but only silence engulfed us, and sounds of our breathing were heard.

When I noticed carefully, her face had paled and tear dropped from her right eye, she didn't even wipe it. I moved slowly towards her bed.

I sat on the space next to her and stared at her as tears flew from her eyes I wiped them with my hand.

but she just jerked my hand away.

"You have a fever," I stated despite her not cooperating I went to the bathroom put water in a bowl and white cloth, I rush back towards her, twisted the cloth in water and kept on her forehead with so many questions on my mind which only she had the answers to.

"Why are you doing this?why are you suffering and breaking all of us?have we made a mistake?Have I hurt you?have I done something wrong?" please tell me I begged her and she just shook her head, once done, I put the bowl away and took her hand in mine and entwined our fingers.

More tears flew from her eyes and I kissed her forehead.

Never judge a person, people suffer silently and yet put a smile on their face for their family sake.

"I am sorry if I have hurt you after my family passed away it was your family who has been my strength, my support, my role model, I admire it a lot, I have made many mistakes, Aahil has made many mistakes and yet we talked it out without informing you or uncle because we didn't want to stress you," I informed her and she nodded.

At least something rather than nothing at all.

"I have made a huge mistake," I heard her say in a sad tone and my eyes widened with surprise and concern for her.

"What? what mistake?" I asked her as I closed the door I knew she didn't want anyone to know she pointed towards the door.

Don't doubt someone at their best and don't judge someone at their worst as everyone is going through their own trials and struggling .

I was feeling so down, I just hope this doesn't break people of this family. Relationships are fragile nowadays, including  people's evil eyes, I just pray all goes well.

"How's your hand?" She asked as if she was concerned and that too after so long so I just replied as I gazed at it, Aahil was really helping me with my hand and being supportive. Best husband so far, more than I could have ever imagined or thought I would get someone like him. He's one of a kind.

"Alhamdulillah it's okey I have less pain but I just can't lift it, or carry heavy stuff, in fact I can't carry any stuff," I explained to her and she tried to put her head on the headboard, I helped her, she still hadn't answered my questions, why so much distance, why so much pain and agony?cant we be one even if I hadn't been part of their family before?

"Do you remember anything before the incident of your parents?" She questioned I narrowed my eyes with confusion. Why that question all of sudden?did she have something to do it with ?thats why they took me in?No, Ahlam, don't think any negative stuff, don't create assumptions and doubts.

"Yeah after some days I remembered everything then I and Aahil solved our issues I told him everything about my past," I told her everything about my modelling and other stuff and she nodded as she explained to me as long as Aahil was okey with it she was also fine with it.

"I knew about it as I overheard your conversation and I was so mad at both of you especially my son for playing with your feelings," she said as tear rolled down her cheek, I didnt want sympathy I just want support.

"Am glad you both sorted it out but I don't know if my husband will ever forgive me, " she said in a sad tone, what did she do? I always admired them, I just hope she didn't do what uncle told us about money and everything. He loves you he will forgive you but is love enough sometimes ?

"Is it true that you took a huge amount of money?" I asked with confidence, no idea where I got that bravery from, maybe because we shared a strong bond before.

"Yeah I took that money in fact I am sorry for all hurtful words I spoke against you," she apologised and I searched for sincerity in her eyes.

Who are we to not forgive people when they ask for forgiveness?

"At party people spoke against you and I   just got carried away also someone was trying to threaten me," she said and grabbed my hand in hers with few run her eyes.

"Ladies at party were just taunting me and judging me and my family about how easily we accepted you, without finding out about you and your family, I gave money to someone to find out about you," she said and my eyes widened with shock I removed my hands from hers tears streaming down my face.

She stalked me?Just because of people, oh how people create misunderstandings in others lives.

"I wanted to know if you are the right girl for my son and I forgot everyone has flaws," she said as sob escaped from her and I just sat there listening to her as she spoke all truth.

"My son hurt you he was wrong one instead not you dear," she wiped tears with back of her hand.

"I gave money to the investigator after that ladies kept on insisting I should attend a party with them," I refused but they insisted a lot and I gave in, thinking once it won't hurt to enjoy life and go to the club.

"Don't tell me you went to the club?" I asked her, my heart was besting fast just by hearing club word, how did she such fine lady gave into the talks of her friend's circle and agreed?Surely we should choose our friends wisely.

Not all friends are true friends, choose your friends wisely.

"What happened next?" I asked with fear and so many scenarios ran in my mind.

Ya Allah I just hope this doesn't destroy our family.

Please keep all families united. Ameen

"I hope you haven't spoken something you will regret," I whispered with shaky hands and fear gripped with in me.

"I am sorry I know no one will forgive me for this, but please help me come out of this mess," she said as she sobbed and I just couldn't handle her cry so much.

How come we didn't we realize that she was going wrong way?

"While we were dancing, I thought it was just ladies night out, there were guys also, and one was capturing our pictures, he also approached me, I tried to free myself but they were calling me spoilt sport, religious and all other names, because we had even left our hair open, " she stopped and my eyes widened they had tricked mom into something very wrong. Something which will just spoil reputation.

"They tricked you," I whispered and she nodded

"How did you do it?" I asked

"They were all suggesting me and my friends do modelling I knew I couldn't do it at this age, and because use of family but then I remembered someone who could," she said while looking away.

I hope she hasn't said what I think she has, I hope she hasn't revealed my secret. Aahik will not tolerate it, I,n fact no one will.

"What did you do mom?" I asked her with trembling hands, my throat felt dry and my heart skipped a bit.

"I told them, I know someone young who will do modelling for them," she explained and my eyes widened with shock, I felt betrayed.

"The guy kept threatening me and finally the ladies supported me, and pointed out that know someone who can do modelling," she explained and I froze for a moment and composed myself, teaspiltled from my eyes and I didn't wipe them, everything will be destroyed.

"I mentioned your name, she revealed the truth and I stood up immediately with so many questions running in my mind.

" What?"I asked again just in case I didn't hear properly.

"I mentioned them your name, please do this for me no one will know, I promise you we will keep this a secret," she said without any care little did she know that I had done the same mistake before, same mistake dog hidinthe g truth and going against my family but this was going against my husband in such state, my hand wasn't even stable, people would laugh and make fun of me.

Please don't make me do this," I told her but she jusgrabbeded my right hand with puffy eyes and d messy state I just felpitytu for her.

Past never leaves us, no matter how hard we try.

"This is a test from Allah," a thought crossed my mind.

"They won't know and soon we will be out of this mess," she defended herself.

" Out of this mess?by breaking your husband's trust and your husband later on what about your daughter damn it why didn't you think twice before agreeing to whatever your friends said?"I raised my voice and just then knock removed us from our conversation.

"Will you do it? for me? For our families reputation?" She asked and tears streamed down my cheeks.

"This is not right I just don't know what to say," I explained to her and we heard another knock.

"Coming," I opened the door and Aahil stood there with confusion and concern on his face.

"What happened here?" He yelled with anger radiating from his body he stared at momthan mee, questions in his eyes..

"Can someone tell me what just gained here?why are you both with puffy eyes and a messy state?" He questioned and my eyes widened with fear, mom looked away tears streaming down her cheeks, and I just looked at Aahil apologetically.

What should I do?
